THE PACK HAS REOPENED. GO DOWN AND READ THE LAST TWO POSTS RIGHT NOW. LIKE REALLY. RIGHT NOW.

Welcome to Visitors

Greetings. I am Clawface, the Alpha of these parts. I can see you're unfamiliar with my territory, yes? Come along. You'll find something similar to hospitality inside our camp, though not for more than a night or two or you'll start getting dirty looks. Our pack is among the largest and strongest of packs. We are not your average softhearted puppy-pets, as are many of our... ahem... cousins, but rather stonehearted warriors who do not and will not hesitate to defend each other at the cost of our lives. It would be a good idea for you to keep your intentions and destinations to yourself. More than one of us is suspicious of any and all strangers. So go ahead and take a look around. Grab a bite to eat when the crabbier packmates, including myself, aren't watching, take a swim at the falls... whatever, for all I care. Just don't be here tomorrow unless you want to join us! We'll see about that.

Romeo's Duties

Finish your Border Patrol and report back to me in the Alpha's Den.

((... I'd also like for the person who roleplays as Romeo to make your activity known - otherwise you will be taken from your position. I can't have inactive Betas, now can I?))

Sky's Duties

Relieved from duties, for the moment.

(( Kudos to you, Alado/Pebble, for being one of the only people still active here XD ))

Amber's Duties

Relieved from duties for the moment.

((Until your roleplayer shows me he/she is active!))

Rather Important Update, and Another Plot Post

((*Sigh* Hey everyone....well, apparently only one person besides me, myself and I (which would be Willowfeather).
Well, on a trip up into Maine, I am sitting in a pop-up camper with my laptop. XD My mom is cooking a can of soup on a cooktop behind me.......lol....
Anyway, while this trip pleases me a lot more than you know, for more reasons than one, as I look at this pack I am deeply saddened. Willowfeather and I are the only people who come on here anymore. Alado told me she would be gone so I hold nothing against her, but everyone else has simply disappeared. D: I guess I've paid the price for becoming lazy about my plot posts and such. Or maybe it's just the new school year....
Anyhow, I'm imploring people to come back and start posting again. After seeing the Cbox silent after my last Plot Post, I can see the extent of the inactivity of this pack.
I've put many hours of work into this pack, and I'm not sure how I would react if I had to close it down because of inactivity...
So, to sum it all up, COME BACK PEOPLE!!!!))

It was almost Moonhigh. Venom crouched at the foot of a large rock that was jagged and pointed at the top, though smooth at the bottom. He was far from camp, but he knew what he was waiting for, and he knew what would be coming by soon. He was as motionless as stone, but as determined and lethal as the ancient twoleg-wolves in the stories Song always told the pups.
Before long, Moonshine padded by. Venom's eyes, narrowed till they were nothing but tiny slits, followed her. She would be heading to the Three Tree Cliff, where she would be closer to the Starpack that Venom now firmly believed she had come from. He had watched her carefully the past few weeks, and he now knew she came here every night.
Venom waited quietly for a moment, then suddenly he sprang. Moonshine, supernatural as she was, apparently hadn't expected the attack and was taken by surprise, then overpowered by the larger male wolf. She let out a squeak of suprise before Venom slapped a paw down on top of her muzzle and growled "Not another sound from you, or I'll send you back to the pack you came from."
Moonshine's eyes widened, but she kept quiet.
Pleased with the success of his latest plan, Venom smirked a bit. "Yes, I know where you come from, and I know who you are. You would be wise to do exactly as I ask, or risk letting your origins be betrayed to the entire pack by yours truly."
Moonshine let herself go limp. Venom was used to the trick however, and kept his weight on top of her. He leaned close to her ear.
"Now you listen, and listen closely. You were sent here to guide the pack, you said so yourself. But I know your secret, and unless you want it exposed, I suggest you do what I say."
She gave him a flat look, but said nothing.
Venom lowered his voice to a barely audible pitch. "You will help me to complete my plans. From the way you've looked at me, I can easily see you know my plans perfectly well. That's very nice, miss Mary-Sue. Unfortunately this time it will lead to your demise. You will convince Clawface that I am one of the most trustworthy of the pack. You will encourage her confidence in me, and say no more of this 'terrible danger' that is coming. Am I clear?"
She nodded.
Convinced that she would do as he asked, Venom let her up. She ruffled her inky black coat and gave him a feirce glare.
"You may have won this time, Venom, but don't get your hopes too high. Even Song will live to see your destruction." The mark on her forehead glowed immensely for a moment, and then she turned and was gone in the shadows of the forest.
"Hmph." Venom muttered. "We'll see about that."

Trouble

((Yaaay, another Plot Post at last! I've been so lazy with this lately guys, I'm sorry. And now look, this place has gotten so inactive! DX Well let's hope that people start coming back after this......yes, I DO have an actual Prophecy ready to emerge within the next week. STICK AROUND, you hear me?! :P ))

Venom emerged from the Guard's den and stretched his brown front paws out in front of himself. Without looking up he knew that it was nearly moonhigh. He had to hurry.
Glancing left and right to make sure none were awake, he slipped through the entrance to the camp and headed off toward the swamp. The eerie moonlight etched him in silver and made him nothing more than a silhouette, all the better for his cover.
He wove his way through the trees. Gradually the ground beneath his paws became stickier, and muddier. He slowed his pace and stepped carefully. It was a good thing he did; if he had been moving any faster he wouldn't have noticed the branch right in front of his paws and he would have tripped and fallen flat on his face. On terrain like this, he might not have been able to get back up.
Venom soon came to the bank of the swamp. He wrinkled his nose in distaste; this place smelled like death.
He waited for a few moments. Soon the two ratty, weather-beaten and altogether ugly rogues he knew as his colleagues emerged from the wilted brush.
"It's been a while," the smaller one rasped. "Where have you been?"
"Busy," Venom replied flatly. "My girlfriend got questioning, and there have been new members and patrols left and right. Two new pups, too."
The larger of the two outcasts snorted. "Just what we need. I told you we should have acted sooner."
Venom flicked his ears. "Not to mention the DEATH of the Beta."
The rogues looked at each other, grinning. "Courtesy of us."
"You attacked the Beta without telling me?!"
The expression on the scraggly pair's faces gave him a clear enough answer.
"'Kay....." Venom grumbled, slightly peeved. "Anyway, there's also something else......a visitor."
The rogues caught on to the tone in his voice and leaned forward.
"That's right," Venom continued. "And she isn't like anything I've ever seen."
"How so?"
Pleased with the renewed attention, Venom smirked. "Her name's Moonshine. She's completely black. Beautiful, intelligent - "
"Get on with it!" The smaller rogue snapped.
"Fine. She has the most unusual mark on her forehead............" Venom paused dramatically. "....It glows."
The rogues blinked, suprised. "Glows?" One echoed.
"Mm-hm." Venom grinned. "It seems to brighten and dim with her emotions. You should have seen her face the night the Beta died. A mixture of anger and bitter sorrow."
"But what wolf has markings that glow?" The larger rogue growled. "Only wolves of Feircepack have unusual markings, and their territory is past the mountains."
There was a cold silence.
Finally, the littler rogue spoke. "Starpack?"
Both his partners stared at him.
He grinned. "Sounds believable, doesn't it?"
"Starpack wolves have never been seen incarnate," Venom barked.
"There's a first time for everything, no?" The raspy reply came.
There was another pause. Finally Venom said "I think you're right. Moonshine said she had come to help Moonpack."
Both rogues nodded. The smaller one cackled before adding "She obviously intends to keep her origins a secret, huh?"
Venom nodded. "She wouldn't speak a word on the subject."
"Then we have her. All we need to is blackmail her, and turn her into our complete puppet."
Venom flicked an ear. "You got it. I'll catch her out some night and get started. Meet you here next quarter moon?"
The pair nodded, stood, and slunk away among the trees.
Venom also rose. He turned and headed off, back toward the camp. Before he got too close to the clearing, he took a quick splash in the river, washing away any scent that might ahve clung to his fur. Shaking his pelt out, he rolled in a patch of grass till it was a bit drier and rather spiky, then got up and trotted back to the Guard's den.

((EDIT: Yo, just to satisfy your curiosity, I pryed back into the pack's archive and found a description I had written of the pair of rogues.

"...Presently, two skinny, ragged figures slunk into the clearing. Both were brown, though one was darker than the other. The darker one had four bony legs covered in scars, and there was a little blood matted into his fur. The other was a little smaller, but he had a deformed ear and a twisted, ugly paw. The end of his tail was missing."

Woah. These guys don't sound too nice. o.0 XD ))

New Pups

Bud watched from the entrance to the medicine den. Matias and Kye perched at the prey-pile, sharing part of a deer. They ate quietly, but the sun glowing on their pelts and sleek muscles spoke quite loudly.
Kye's belly was swollen from the pups she was carrying. Bud sighed quietly. It wouldn't be long now. Soon the nursery would have yet more occupants. It was getting very crowded in there. Some of the pups would be old enough to become apprentices soon, Bud concluded. She wondered what Clawface would have them train as. She shook her head, still pondering these things, and turned to the mismatched piles of herbs that needed sorting.
~~~
That night, Bud was woken by a slightly feeble yelp. She sat up, looking around. Mystic was nowhere to be seen. Bud bit her lip nervously. Where was her mentor?
Another yelp of about the same tone sounded, and Bud sprang up. She whisked out of the den, looking around. A whine, with a slightly feeble note involved, rang from the Nursery, reched a fever pitch, then died down again. Bud zipped across the clearing and into the nursery.
"It hurts...." Kye groaned. She panted heavily. Bud stood frozen for a moment, half shocked and half uncertain, before she leapt into action. She shouldered her way out of the nursery and past Matias, who had come up to see what was going on, and pounded back to the medicine den.
Her mind clicked automatically. She deftly grabbed a few different herbs, ran back across to the nursery, and got to work.
~~~
A while later, Bud sat back, worn out, and licked one paw. She still wasn't sure if what had happened had really happened. She had just taken care of a birthing mother. Alone........by herself.......
Kye, meanwhile, nestled contentedly into the moss and feathers that lined her nest. Two young pups nestled with her, and Matias, looking proud but rather awkward, as if the idea of being a father had just become a reality for him and he wasn't sure what to do, perched next to her.
Bud pricked one ear, listening quietly to their conversation.
"That one's name is Cora," Kye muttered, touching one pup's head with her nose. "The other is Karma."
Matias nuzzled his mate happily. "They're beautiful," he murmured. "Just like you."
Bud smiled slightly. She stood, stretched her ivory paws out in front of her, and padded back to the medicine den. She flopped into her nest with a heavy sigh and closed her eyes.
She was suddenly aware of a presence beside her. Opening one eye, Bud could see Mystic standing over her.
"You did well tonight," she whispered quietly. "Sleep now."
Bud did so without hesitation.

((Woot! New pups, the children of the power-pair. ;) Yey! ^^ ))
