She pranced in the training hollow. Clawface said to report here so she did. But no one else was here, she hoped that Clawface had ment today or this would seem quite awkard....

Flick padded in. "Hey, Cloud!" he growled. "Lets start with some basic battle moves." He flipped over and rolled to demonstrate.
ReplyDeleteA flip and roll huh? That was too easy! She leaped over and right as she touched the ground she curled into a tight ball, rolling then coming out of her ball perfectly. Standing up she pranced back "Like that?"

ReplyDeleteFlick nodded aprovingly. "Not bad," he rumbled, which was as much of a compliment as a wolf like him could give. "Now try this. It's the flip-and-roll with an extra bit at the end."
ReplyDeleteFlick flipped over and rolled, then darted up and pounced on his "enemy" with all two paws, adding a kick at the end with his back two. It was a very comlicated move and Flick was proud that he could do it.
She thought for a moment picturing the move in her head. She crouched down low her brows furrowed in concentration. She leaped up and when she touched the ground she turned into a tight ball. She sprang up and leaped at her enemy. But she stretched to far and her legs fell short. She crumpled in an heap of fur. "Ack! Guess I should of made a shorter jump..." she looked down at her paws waiting for Flick to say something.

Flick lashed his tail, but felt a spring of kindness for his Trainee. "Try it again," he instructed, trying to keep the frustration out of his voice. "And this time, remember to kick."
ReplyDeleteHe pursed her lips in concentration. He leap up and form the ball/roll perfectly. She leaped up but kept her legs closer togather. Her two paws landed on her 'enemies' back and kicked out strongly with her back paws. She straightened up "Like that Flick?" he wagged her tail.

Flick was startled. She nearly did it as well as him! "Y-yes," he stammered. Then he regained his formality. "Try this." Flick jumped up towards the lower branches of a tree, clawing at it's leaves. The tree was small, no more then a sapling, but it made a good demonstration of clawing at a higher enemy.

She clung onto the branch her scrapping claws still hung on the branch. She slowly swung back and forth. She let go and swung back next to Flick. "Er, I had my claws stuck in their..." she muttered.

Dawn bounced into the clearing, waiting for Rusty to show up and teach her some hunting moves.
ReplyDeleteFlick snorted. Hopeless! Simply hopeless! His Apprentice may be keen to learn but when it came to actually practising... Flick sighed. Patience, he told himself, patience.
ReplyDelete"Your taller enemy isn't going to be a tree," he explained, "so perhaps it's better to practise on a rock." He trotted over to a small boulder just higher then Cloud and demonstrated the move again.
"Hey Dawn! C'mon over this way" he flicked up tail bounding in shortly after her "No show me how to . . . track and pounce on a mouse."

She looked up ans shivered, running her claws through the rock wouldn't make a nice sound. But she was eager to please her very ill-tempered mentor, Flick. She sprang up again her back legs propelling herself higher. She stuck out with her claws, running them down that rock, making a metallic scrapping sound. She landed and spun around. "Like that?"

Dawn followed Rusty. "Well, to track a mouse, you first need to scent the air and listen for sounds." She crouched down. "Then you crouch down like this and pull yourself towards the mouse. When you're close enough, you jump high into the air and pounce!"
ReplyDeleteFlick growled softly. "That'll do," he grunted. He trotted away from where Rusty and Dawn were and spun in the air, scraping his claws at the side in the proper way to approach an enemy your size.

ReplyDeleteShe nodded. He flashed away, he paws hardly scraping on the battered trail. She whoshed around ferns and zingged around bushes. In a matter of moments she was standing next to the tree, breathing heavily.

Cloud panted for a couple of seconds then set after Flick. She quickly spotted her mentor then caught up to him, leading by a mouse length she tried to make her paws go faster.

Huit ran clumsily into the hollow. He looked up at the apprentices and their mentors his maw falling open. They were so big! Especially the guards!

ReplyDeleteComet chuckled at his pups' expressions. "So, you two wanted to learn some hunting moves, right?"
"Pups!" Cloud skidded to a halt turning around racing towards the pups, leaving Flick by the tree "Aww! Are they your Comet?" she barked happily looking down at Rain.
ReplyDeleteHuit looked up at th she-wolf with big purple-y eyes. "I'm Huit!" He barked, "Comet's teaching us to be the best hunters in Moonpack!" He growled playfully.

"Ooh! I bet you'll have the squirrels quivering in fear, eh?" Cloud laughed at Huit. "What are you gonna teach them?" she smiled at Rain

Huit nudged his sister, then looked up at Comet. "Come on teach us! Or are you scared we'll be better than you!" He challenged wagging his tail.
ReplyDelete"Yeah Comet! Too scared?" Cloud laughed joining in with Huit. "Aww this ones cool!" she nudged Huit head and ruffled his ears.
ReplyDelete"Scared of what?" Comet asked, tilting his head in mock confusion. He scratched one gray ear. "You wont be beating me in any hunting areas until you're apprentices, so what's to be scared off?"

Cloud shrugged "Hmm, easy. But I am assuming your talking to Huit right?" she walked a ways away, Then sank into the crouch. She sprang away from the forest floor with a powerful kick of her hind paws. She raced back to where her mentor was standing.

ReplyDeleteHuit copied clumsily. He laughed as his big paws gave way as he tried to keep his belly close to ground. Her rolled onto his back and pawed at a butterfly.

ReplyDeleteRain also tried to imitate her fathers position, but failed by face-planting into the soft patch of dirt. She scrambled up, shaking flecks of soil from her coat. She looked down, embarassed.
Huit chased the butterfly. He stopped suddenly as a pair of purple eyes watched him. "Aurora?" He called out.
ReplyDeleteA lean, tawny coloured wolf stepped out. "No," He chuckled, "Matias" He sat infront of his nephew. A dark brown she-wolf followed him.
"Your our mother's brother!" He howled in delight.
"And this is Kye" Matias flicked his tail at the she-wolf next to him.
Kye dipped her head towards the pup.
Huit studied her and Matias. "Are you two mates?" He asked abruptly.
Matias chuckled. "Yes" He lay her tail on hers.
Huit's big eyes grew wider. "Are you gunna have pups?!" He asked, his tail wagging at the thought of new pups.
Kye licked her chest fur before replying. "Yes, they will be your cousins" She nosed the pup gently.
((Yes that is right.....Matias and Kye are mates! :D if thats ok? lol and Kye is expecting Matias' pups. I thought they would make a pretty good power couple haha))
