THE PACK HAS REOPENED. GO DOWN AND READ THE LAST TWO POSTS RIGHT NOW. LIKE REALLY. RIGHT NOW.

Welcome to Visitors

Greetings. I am Clawface, the Alpha of these parts. I can see you're unfamiliar with my territory, yes? Come along. You'll find something similar to hospitality inside our camp, though not for more than a night or two or you'll start getting dirty looks. Our pack is among the largest and strongest of packs. We are not your average softhearted puppy-pets, as are many of our... ahem... cousins, but rather stonehearted warriors who do not and will not hesitate to defend each other at the cost of our lives. It would be a good idea for you to keep your intentions and destinations to yourself. More than one of us is suspicious of any and all strangers. So go ahead and take a look around. Grab a bite to eat when the crabbier packmates, including myself, aren't watching, take a swim at the falls... whatever, for all I care. Just don't be here tomorrow unless you want to join us! We'll see about that.

Romeo's Duties

Finish your Border Patrol and report back to me in the Alpha's Den.

((... I'd also like for the person who roleplays as Romeo to make your activity known - otherwise you will be taken from your position. I can't have inactive Betas, now can I?))

Sky's Duties

Relieved from duties, for the moment.

(( Kudos to you, Alado/Pebble, for being one of the only people still active here XD ))

Amber's Duties

Relieved from duties for the moment.

((Until your roleplayer shows me he/she is active!))

Temporarily Closing

((Greetings, everyone.
As the title says, I am temporarily closing Moonpack. I simply can't keep up with school, all my other petsites, Mistclan, a new fanfic I have been writing, and this pack all at once.
I'll bring back this pack when I think I can handle it. Don't keep checking back constantly, because it'll be a while before I reopen it. Check back once a month, that's a better schedule.
In any case, everything has been frozen where it is. I'll miss you guys. As I mentioned, you can find me in Mistclan.
I will end this farewell post with a quick referral (XD) and the phrase 'You can also find me on Exhibited as Sai'.

This is for anyone that has even a remote interest in dinosaurs. Willowfeather and I are both experienced members, and we both enjoy it very much.
Talk to you later, everyone.

Rather Important Update, and Another Plot Post

((*Sigh* Hey everyone....well, apparently only one person besides me, myself and I (which would be Willowfeather).
Well, on a trip up into Maine, I am sitting in a pop-up camper with my laptop. XD My mom is cooking a can of soup on a cooktop behind me.......lol....
Anyway, while this trip pleases me a lot more than you know, for more reasons than one, as I look at this pack I am deeply saddened. Willowfeather and I are the only people who come on here anymore. Alado told me she would be gone so I hold nothing against her, but everyone else has simply disappeared. D: I guess I've paid the price for becoming lazy about my plot posts and such. Or maybe it's just the new school year....
Anyhow, I'm imploring people to come back and start posting again. After seeing the Cbox silent after my last Plot Post, I can see the extent of the inactivity of this pack.
I've put many hours of work into this pack, and I'm not sure how I would react if I had to close it down because of inactivity...
So, to sum it all up, COME BACK PEOPLE!!!!))

It was almost Moonhigh. Venom crouched at the foot of a large rock that was jagged and pointed at the top, though smooth at the bottom. He was far from camp, but he knew what he was waiting for, and he knew what would be coming by soon. He was as motionless as stone, but as determined and lethal as the ancient twoleg-wolves in the stories Song always told the pups.
Before long, Moonshine padded by. Venom's eyes, narrowed till they were nothing but tiny slits, followed her. She would be heading to the Three Tree Cliff, where she would be closer to the Starpack that Venom now firmly believed she had come from. He had watched her carefully the past few weeks, and he now knew she came here every night.
Venom waited quietly for a moment, then suddenly he sprang. Moonshine, supernatural as she was, apparently hadn't expected the attack and was taken by surprise, then overpowered by the larger male wolf. She let out a squeak of suprise before Venom slapped a paw down on top of her muzzle and growled "Not another sound from you, or I'll send you back to the pack you came from."
Moonshine's eyes widened, but she kept quiet.
Pleased with the success of his latest plan, Venom smirked a bit. "Yes, I know where you come from, and I know who you are. You would be wise to do exactly as I ask, or risk letting your origins be betrayed to the entire pack by yours truly."
Moonshine let herself go limp. Venom was used to the trick however, and kept his weight on top of her. He leaned close to her ear.
"Now you listen, and listen closely. You were sent here to guide the pack, you said so yourself. But I know your secret, and unless you want it exposed, I suggest you do what I say."
She gave him a flat look, but said nothing.
Venom lowered his voice to a barely audible pitch. "You will help me to complete my plans. From the way you've looked at me, I can easily see you know my plans perfectly well. That's very nice, miss Mary-Sue. Unfortunately this time it will lead to your demise. You will convince Clawface that I am one of the most trustworthy of the pack. You will encourage her confidence in me, and say no more of this 'terrible danger' that is coming. Am I clear?"
She nodded.
Convinced that she would do as he asked, Venom let her up. She ruffled her inky black coat and gave him a feirce glare.
"You may have won this time, Venom, but don't get your hopes too high. Even Song will live to see your destruction." The mark on her forehead glowed immensely for a moment, and then she turned and was gone in the shadows of the forest.
"Hmph." Venom muttered. "We'll see about that."

Trouble

((Yaaay, another Plot Post at last! I've been so lazy with this lately guys, I'm sorry. And now look, this place has gotten so inactive! DX Well let's hope that people start coming back after this......yes, I DO have an actual Prophecy ready to emerge within the next week. STICK AROUND, you hear me?! :P ))

Venom emerged from the Guard's den and stretched his brown front paws out in front of himself. Without looking up he knew that it was nearly moonhigh. He had to hurry.
Glancing left and right to make sure none were awake, he slipped through the entrance to the camp and headed off toward the swamp. The eerie moonlight etched him in silver and made him nothing more than a silhouette, all the better for his cover.
He wove his way through the trees. Gradually the ground beneath his paws became stickier, and muddier. He slowed his pace and stepped carefully. It was a good thing he did; if he had been moving any faster he wouldn't have noticed the branch right in front of his paws and he would have tripped and fallen flat on his face. On terrain like this, he might not have been able to get back up.
Venom soon came to the bank of the swamp. He wrinkled his nose in distaste; this place smelled like death.
He waited for a few moments. Soon the two ratty, weather-beaten and altogether ugly rogues he knew as his colleagues emerged from the wilted brush.
"It's been a while," the smaller one rasped. "Where have you been?"
"Busy," Venom replied flatly. "My girlfriend got questioning, and there have been new members and patrols left and right. Two new pups, too."
The larger of the two outcasts snorted. "Just what we need. I told you we should have acted sooner."
Venom flicked his ears. "Not to mention the DEATH of the Beta."
The rogues looked at each other, grinning. "Courtesy of us."
"You attacked the Beta without telling me?!"
The expression on the scraggly pair's faces gave him a clear enough answer.
"'Kay....." Venom grumbled, slightly peeved. "Anyway, there's also something else......a visitor."
The rogues caught on to the tone in his voice and leaned forward.
"That's right," Venom continued. "And she isn't like anything I've ever seen."
"How so?"
Pleased with the renewed attention, Venom smirked. "Her name's Moonshine. She's completely black. Beautiful, intelligent - "
"Get on with it!" The smaller rogue snapped.
"Fine. She has the most unusual mark on her forehead............" Venom paused dramatically. "....It glows."
The rogues blinked, suprised. "Glows?" One echoed.
"Mm-hm." Venom grinned. "It seems to brighten and dim with her emotions. You should have seen her face the night the Beta died. A mixture of anger and bitter sorrow."
"But what wolf has markings that glow?" The larger rogue growled. "Only wolves of Feircepack have unusual markings, and their territory is past the mountains."
There was a cold silence.
Finally, the littler rogue spoke. "Starpack?"
Both his partners stared at him.
He grinned. "Sounds believable, doesn't it?"
"Starpack wolves have never been seen incarnate," Venom barked.
"There's a first time for everything, no?" The raspy reply came.
There was another pause. Finally Venom said "I think you're right. Moonshine said she had come to help Moonpack."
Both rogues nodded. The smaller one cackled before adding "She obviously intends to keep her origins a secret, huh?"
Venom nodded. "She wouldn't speak a word on the subject."
"Then we have her. All we need to is blackmail her, and turn her into our complete puppet."
Venom flicked an ear. "You got it. I'll catch her out some night and get started. Meet you here next quarter moon?"
The pair nodded, stood, and slunk away among the trees.
Venom also rose. He turned and headed off, back toward the camp. Before he got too close to the clearing, he took a quick splash in the river, washing away any scent that might ahve clung to his fur. Shaking his pelt out, he rolled in a patch of grass till it was a bit drier and rather spiky, then got up and trotted back to the Guard's den.

((EDIT: Yo, just to satisfy your curiosity, I pryed back into the pack's archive and found a description I had written of the pair of rogues.

"...Presently, two skinny, ragged figures slunk into the clearing. Both were brown, though one was darker than the other. The darker one had four bony legs covered in scars, and there was a little blood matted into his fur. The other was a little smaller, but he had a deformed ear and a twisted, ugly paw. The end of his tail was missing."

Woah. These guys don't sound too nice. o.0 XD ))

New Pups

Bud watched from the entrance to the medicine den. Matias and Kye perched at the prey-pile, sharing part of a deer. They ate quietly, but the sun glowing on their pelts and sleek muscles spoke quite loudly.
Kye's belly was swollen from the pups she was carrying. Bud sighed quietly. It wouldn't be long now. Soon the nursery would have yet more occupants. It was getting very crowded in there. Some of the pups would be old enough to become apprentices soon, Bud concluded. She wondered what Clawface would have them train as. She shook her head, still pondering these things, and turned to the mismatched piles of herbs that needed sorting.
~~~
That night, Bud was woken by a slightly feeble yelp. She sat up, looking around. Mystic was nowhere to be seen. Bud bit her lip nervously. Where was her mentor?
Another yelp of about the same tone sounded, and Bud sprang up. She whisked out of the den, looking around. A whine, with a slightly feeble note involved, rang from the Nursery, reched a fever pitch, then died down again. Bud zipped across the clearing and into the nursery.
"It hurts...." Kye groaned. She panted heavily. Bud stood frozen for a moment, half shocked and half uncertain, before she leapt into action. She shouldered her way out of the nursery and past Matias, who had come up to see what was going on, and pounded back to the medicine den.
Her mind clicked automatically. She deftly grabbed a few different herbs, ran back across to the nursery, and got to work.
~~~
A while later, Bud sat back, worn out, and licked one paw. She still wasn't sure if what had happened had really happened. She had just taken care of a birthing mother. Alone........by herself.......
Kye, meanwhile, nestled contentedly into the moss and feathers that lined her nest. Two young pups nestled with her, and Matias, looking proud but rather awkward, as if the idea of being a father had just become a reality for him and he wasn't sure what to do, perched next to her.
Bud pricked one ear, listening quietly to their conversation.
"That one's name is Cora," Kye muttered, touching one pup's head with her nose. "The other is Karma."
Matias nuzzled his mate happily. "They're beautiful," he murmured. "Just like you."
Bud smiled slightly. She stood, stretched her ivory paws out in front of her, and padded back to the medicine den. She flopped into her nest with a heavy sigh and closed her eyes.
She was suddenly aware of a presence beside her. Opening one eye, Bud could see Mystic standing over her.
"You did well tonight," she whispered quietly. "Sleep now."
Bud did so without hesitation.

((Woot! New pups, the children of the power-pair. ;) Yey! ^^ ))

New Member

Clawface sprang up to the Tallrock and landed lightly on her paws. She turned to face the clearing below her, and let out a long, echoing howl. "Let all those old enough to catch their own prey join beneath the Tallrock for a pack meeting!"
The wolves of Moonpack assembled before their Alpha and looked up expectantly.
"We have a new member among us," Clawface barked. She looked down at the gray, white, and black she-wolf that stood at the base of the Tallrock. "Make welcome our newest Hunter, Star, and do not exclude her from your daily lives. She is one of us now. Meeting dismissed!"

Star! Star! Star! Star! Star!

A Warning

Clawface shifted restlessly in her den. Dark shadows etched in silver chased themselves around and around in her mind, but she couldn't identify who or what they were, if they were anything at all.

She was walking in an unfamiliar wood. There was no trace of any pack scent. Only musty leaves. Clawface looked back and forth, disoriented and unsure as to where she was going.
Suddenly a pair of yellow eyes blinked open from the gloom. Clawface leaned forward, eyes widening. "Who are you?"
A faint growl sounded. "Beware, Clawface. Peace is not an easy thing to gain."
Clawface recoiled as though she had been stung. "But there is peace now!"
"No." The single word singed the Moonpack Alpha's fur like a wildfire. The eyes advanced from the shadows. Clawface held in a gasp. She had thought these eyes belonged to a wolf, but now she could see the being was nothing more than a dark shadow, an absent silhouette with a vaguely wolfish outline barely distinguishable. The creature moved forward until it's eyes were about four mouse-lengths from Clawface's own.
"You only have the moonlight for a short time. Use its light as guidance, for before long it will dim, and fade from your presence." The shadow leaned closer. "The rain will become poisoned, and the poison will destroy unless you detect it in time." The shadow wound itself around Clawface, enclosing her, oppressing her, clouding her vision into blackness as thick as fur, soft as water..........

Clawface bolted upright. Her fur was standing on end.
"Oh, Starpack. What's going to happen to us now?"

((Ooooo, suspense! This isn't exactly a prophecy. I know I promised you one, but I SUCK at writing prophecies and riddles, so please be patient with me. Your ideas are always appreciated....))

Want your Wolf to Advance Rank?

This page is for you to tell me if your Apprentice is ready to be a Hunter/Guard, or if your pup is ready to become an Apprentice.

If you want your Apprentice to advance rank, just say so.

If you want your pup to advance rank, just tell me what they're going to train as; a Hunter or a Guard (or a Medic, if the Medicine Apprentice rank is open.

Note: I also judge when Apprentices and pups are ready to advance, so there's a chance I'll have their ceremonies without warning. ;)

Gathering Tonight

((Hey all! Gathering tonight, here are the people going:

Romeo

Matias

Shear

Lupus

Gentleheart

Rusty

Venom

Head over to the Gathering at 7:30 pm! I'll be a little late as my youth group meets on Sundays, but I will try to show up!
Also, a little announcement......))

Clawface leapt up to the Tallrock, her paws lighter than they had been since Night's death. She lifted her chin in a resounding howl that called the wolves of her pack together. "Let all those old enough to catch their own prey join beneath the Tallrock for a pack meeting!"
She continued as her packmates gathered beneath her. A few of the pups, Hunter, Olive, and Mallorie, had also snuck out of the den and hung around at the edge of the group, feeling quite important to be participating in a pack meeting.
"Despite the recent occurance of Night's death, our pack moves on. Matias and Kye are expecting pups."
Faces turned toward a proud-looking Matias with his chin held high, and his mate who sat next to him. She too looked rather pleased. Their tails twined around each other slightly.
"It's the power couple!" Hunter whispered, loudly enough for almost everyone in the clearing to hear. "Their pups will beat us in every competition!"
The corners of Clawface's mouth twitched as she almost smiled. "Meeting dismissed."

Matias! Kye! Matias! Kye! Matias! Kye!

Night is Gone. :(

Clawface paced back and forth in front of her den under a starless, ink-black sky. It was nearly moonhigh, but the Alpha simply couldn't sleep, and she really wasn't sure why. Frustrated with herself, Clawface sprang up on the Tallrock and sat there firmly, tilting her face up to where the stars would have been if she could see them. For some reason, she had a vague feeling of misfortune, and she didn't know where it was coming from.
Suddenly the bushes at the entrance to the camp rustled. Clawface looked around sharply. Her yellow eyes widened in shock as she watched Night stumble into the clearing and collapse. Blood glistened darkly in the moonlight on her back, neck, and one side, and her breath came out in ragged gasps.
Clawface dropped from the Tallrock and leapt to the Beta's side. "Night!" She yowled.
The call vibrated around the clearing and echoed throughout the territory, rousing wolves from their slumber. Matias, Kisharu, and Frost stumbled out of their dens, looking confused, followed by a few others.
Matias was the first to snap out of the daze of his recently disturbed sleep. "Great Starpack!!!" He howled. "What's going on?!"
Mystic, who happened to be a light sleeper, emerged from her den, followed by what appeared to be a sleepwalking Bud. The Medic knelt next to Night, sniffing her furiously.
Night coughed feebly. "Leave me...." she whispered. Under the gazes of the wolves around her, the black wolf took a deep breath, shuddered, and was still.
Mystic waited for a moment.
Clawface also waited.
The clearing was enveloped in a deep, forbidding silence.
After a while, one of the pups, Olive, spoke up in a tiny, nervous voice. "Is she...dead?"
Mystic didn't respond at first. She stared off into oblivion past the limp, apparently lifeless form of Night. After a while, she said "Yes."
Clawface used as much energy as she could to keep herself from hanging her head. Fatigue washed over her in an almost overwhelming state, and she hoped, wished desperately, to the bottom of her heart, that this was only a nightmare, and nothing more. But her heart told her otherwise.
Night was dead.
~~~
The next morning, wolves were awakened by the sunlight filtering in through their dens, but more so by the news that was quickly passed. The Beta was dead.
The members of the pack entered the clearing from their sleeping quarters to see a solitary, lone figure sitting next to the heap of black fur that was Night. Clawface's eyes were closed and she was completely motionless, and a few wondered if she was asleep, but she suddenly opened her eyes and leaped up to the Tallrock. A visible weight pulled at her paws, and the usual energy that flowed through her was absent.
"Let all those old enough to catch their own prey, join beneath the Tallrock for a pack meeting."
The wolves did as the rather flat call commanded, giving questioning and rather horrified glances at each other.
Clawface lifted her head slightly. "On the moonhigh of the last night, our Beta died."
This was met with silence.
"The cause of her death is unknown. She could not have been saved. She left these hunting grounds moments after falling to them for the last time."
A few murmurs went up, but were silenced quickly as Clawface cast an uncharictaristically hollow gaze over them.
"She runs with Starpack now. I have sat vigil with her, and Song will bury her when this meeting comes to a close." Clawface raised her voice slightly. "May Night approve of the choices we make as a pack in the future. I say these words before her body and Starpack, in hopes that they approve of this descision. Romeo has advanced in rank and now will take Night's place as Beta. Sky will become the new Gamma of Moonpack. Meeting dismissed."
Song proceeded to, on her own, carry Night's body from the camp to bury it. Clawface perched on the Tallrock, watching after them.
((Yes. Hawkface and Night are gone. I'm really not sure why, but Hawkface left a comment last night that said she had to leave, and gave a breif IC of what became of Night. We'll miss you, Hawkface.))
Update
((Hey everyone! Just a quick update for y'all!
I. I'm sorry I haven't been real active lately. I've been rather busy, and I've had a slight amount of writer's block (woah, since when did that happen to me?). But, as a little thing to keep you coming around, there WILL be a new prophecy very soon, and with that prophecy comes those chosen to fulfill it. Get me? :D
II. I updated the 'Join' Page to tell about the Gamma and Delta. Those of you who are new around here would probably find it helpful.
III. Okay, this is going to be rather off topic, but this blog is about the only place I can advertise. :P
So, who here likes dinosaurs? Besides me?
Well, if that happens to be you, perhaps you'd like to join Exhibited? Exhibited is basically a petsite where you can create, capture, battle, breed, and take care of your own raptor. Well, actually as many as you like. EX is one of my favorite sites, and I've been a member for a really long time. Recently it went down for a few months because of a huge bug, but the entire site has been reformatted and it is now open for referrals, which is what I'm doing right now. Click the picture below to visit us!
The people there are very diverse, friendly, and unique. The woman who owns the site, Kitty, is probably one of the nicest people I have ever met.
If you want to chat with me, my player name is Sai, and I'm member #204. Hope to see you there!
IV. Well, with that said, last but not least is another welcome to Spyre! :D
That's all for today - keep posting!))
New Members!
Clawface flexed her muscles and launched herself from the ground in a light spring. She landed deftly on the Tallrock, and proceeded to let out a long, echoing howl that rang around the territory.
"Let all those old enough to catch their own Prey join beneath the Tallrock for a pack meeting!"
The Alpha waited for a moment, and soon enough the whole of her pack was gathered below her. Clawface scanned the crowded clearing for a moment before speaking. "We have new wolves among us. Make welcome our two newest Guards, Cloudingsky and Lupus."
Eyes were drawn to the two biggest of the three wolves that perched under the Tallrock.
"Also joining us this day is Lightning, an Apprentice," Clawface continued. "One day she will be a Hunter, but until then, Thunder will mentor her. Meeting dismissed!"
Cloudingsky! Lupus! Lightning! Cloudingsky! Lupus! Lightning!
((Welcome Spyre!!!!!!))
Aurora's Pups
Thunder rumbled outside as Mystic nosed a few herbs into a pile, after they had been scattered by a few naïve, playful pups. She looked up. “You hear that, Bud?
Bud nodded. “You think there’s enough time to collect a few more herbs before it starts to rain?”
Mystic shook her head. “Nope. Look, it’s raining already.”
Indeed it was; fat drops pelted the hard-trodden ground that could be seen from the entrance to the Medic’s den.
Bud ruffled her fur slightly. “I hope no one’s out there right now. Whoever is will be in for a good bath, and probably catch a cold too.”
Mystic, now finished with her herbs, settled down into her nest and sighed. “Well, let’s get some sleep and let the rain do its work. Tomor-”
“Mystic! Mystic!” Suddenly Comet burst into the den, attempting to catch his breath and crying the medic’s name between pants. “It’s Aurora! I think she’s-”
“Don’t tell me, don’t tell me!” Mystic barked, springing out of her den. “Pups, right?”
Comet nodded breathlessly. “She’s just outside of the camp. Hurry!”
“In this rain?!” Mystic growled. “What are the odds? Come on, Bud!” She darted out of the den and into the pouring rain, and pelted across the clearing. She vanished outside of the camp with Bud on her heels. Comet raced after them breathlessly, whilst protesting “We were taking a walk! I didn’t expect…..”
Aurora was on her side, breathing heavily. Her usually dazzling white fur was soaked and water streamed off of her. Mystic knelt beside her, her ears flopping as they were battered by the rain. “Find me some iris petals, Bud. And be quick!”
Bud, not sure what to do besides follow orders, ran off back to the den as she was told.
Comet, who looked like a skinny gray rat in the wet weather, licked Aurora fervently. “Will she be okay?” His face was anxious.
“She’ll be fine,” Mystic muttered as she worked on getting out the first pup. Bud soon returned with the petals. Mystic nodded to her. “Use them.”
Bud stood frozen for a moment. “…...How?”
“Don’t you remember any of your training? They’ll help her breathe. Use them!”
Bud snapped to it and did as told.
~~~
Soon, a very damp Aurora was curled in the nursery with two small pups. Comet perched next to her, licking her wet ear tenderly.
Aurora sighed and watched her pups with gentle violet eyes.
“What should we name them?” Comet wagged his tail a bit.
Aurora closed her eyes and rested her head against him. “Look at our son, Comet. Doesn’t he look just like you?”
Comet tilted his head slightly, studying the gray pup. Indeed he did; the father and son could have been called clones. “Yes?”
“His name’s Huit.” Aurora smiled faintly. “His name means ‘comet’.”
Touched, Comet nosed his mate and said “And as for the other?”
“You decide,” Aurora mumbled. Her voice was becoming blurred as she started to drift off to sleep.
Comet studied his daughter carefully. “Rain,” he finally barked softly. “I’ll name her Rain.”
“Good choice…………………” Aurora’s breathing became slower and she didn’t move much after that. Comet sank down into a reclining position and rested his head on the ground next to hers.

((First litter born in Moonpack!!!! *Passes out cake* :D
Oh btw, Swirly Girl, I did post at the Border Patrol. Just look back a few posts, Thunder and Alado are there also so you may have missed mine. ☺ ))

Olivestar?

((Yo, Olivestar?
It's been a few days since my last update post, and I haven't heard anything from you.
You've been gone for quite a while; it's been more than three weeks. I don't want to delete you, but I need to see at least one post from ya or a reason why you've become inactive. If you're on vacation or something I'll be happy to keep that in mind and preserve your membership, but when someone disappears without warning they're on the clock.
Of course, if you are deleted and then you return, I would be delighted to add you, and make Aurora Comet's mate again. I don't want to delete you in the first place though. Please write back!

Also, the Gathering is tomorrow night guys! I'll post somethi - wait wait wait, it's tomorrow?!?
AAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!
*Headdesk* I will not be here tomorrow. >< What are the odds? I'm gone for the last half of every Saturday, from about 4:30 pm to 9:00 at night.
Rar.
Well, as I was saying, I will make a post of the wolves going tomorrow. Since Hawkface, alias Night, is on vacation, Romeo will be in charge of the Gathering. If Romeo doesn't show up, Amber will take his place. Sound good?
Smell you later guys!))

Update

((Yo everyone! Just a few things I wanted to mention.......

I. First of all, Another welcome to the new RPers, Fox (Snow) and Flute Girl (Fawn, Alaska and pups)! We haven't had any new members in ages, and your joining really made my day.

II. I wanted to mention this. Olivestar, you haven't posted in quite a while. I haven't looked at my calendar and calculated the number of says since you last posted, but I know it's been a few weeks. You used to be fine with your posting rate, but then you stopped! I really, REALLY don't wanna delete you, considering you've been here a while, you're a good RPer, you're a nice person, and one of your characters is one of my character's mates (and together they make the first pair in the pack!). So I'm giving you extra time. Don't forget that if you are deleted and then you return, I will be more than happy to re-add you and make Aurora Comet's mate again, but I really don't wanna have to delete you in the first place...

III. I will be fixing the 'Join' page and adding rank descriptions about the Gamma and Delta. I just haven't gotten around to it. Be patient with me, please. :3

IV. Hey Swirly Girl, we should start RPing Venom and Sunray again. I think we left off at the border patrol...I'm not sure....what do you wanna do?

V. As I mentioned earlier, we hadn't had any new members in ages until Fox and Flute Girl came. So, please please please stick a button in your blog's sidebars! There's the code for one in Moonpack's sidebar, and there's a page at the bottom of the 'Places' menu (also in the sidebar) that has three more.

New Members!

Clawface leapt swiftly up to the Tallrock. She threw her head back in a long howl. "Let all those old enough to catch their own prey join beneath the Tallrock for a Pack meeting!"
Her packmates gathered below her, and she barked "We have new members with us this evening. Please give your greetings and welcome to Frost, the newest Hunter of our pack, and Shasta, the Guard." She looked down from her lofty position at the pair of wolves that stood on the ground below her. "Welcome, both of you. Meeting dismissed!"

Shasta! Frost! Shasta! Frost!

More New Members

((Oooo yay! :D ))

Clawface leapt up to the Tallrock and threw her head back in a long howl. "Let all those old enough to catch their own prey join beneath the Tallrock for a Pack meeting!"
Looking down at her packmates gathered beneath her, the Alpha continued.
"We have a new family among us, as well as a Hunter."
Faces turned toward the family of wolves that perched beneath the Tallrock and the wolf that occupied it: A queen and her four pups. A wiry grey male wolf also stood there.
"Make welcome Alaska, and her pups, Olive, Mallorie, Hunter, and Thistle. Care for them as you would your kin, for that is what they have become; they are of the pack now." Clawface nodded to the grey wolf. "Also meet Shear, the newest Hunter, and do not exclude him from your daily lives." She looked out over her pack. "All these have joined us. Welcome them. Meeting dismissed!"

Alaska! Olive! Mallorie! Hunter! Thistle! Shear! Alaska! Olive! Mallorie! Hunter! Thistle! Shear!

New Member!

Clawface swiftly leapt up to the Tallrock. She lifted her chin and let out a long, echoing howl that reverberated around the territory. No wolf could miss it - and none did.
"Let all those old enough to catch their own prey join beneath the Tallrock for a pack meeting!"
Soon all the wolves were gathered beneath their Alpha. Looking down at them from her lofty position, Clawface barked "We have a new member in our ranks. Make welcome Fawn, our newest Apprentice, and treat her as one of our own, for that is what she is." The blue-gray wolf turned her yellow-eyed gaze to look at Sky, one of the many wolves gathered beneath her. "Sky, you will mentor Fawn. Train her in the ways of a Guard, and pass on all knowledge you know to her. Meeting dismissed!"

Fawn! Fawn! Fawn! Fawn! Fawn!

((Welcome Fawn!
Also wanted to mention - Snow, you still haven't told me what your rank is: Guard, Hunter, or Apprentice? I also need a different picture (read the last 'New member + Plot' post to find out why) If you don't have a different picture I can find one for you if you like. ☺ ))

New Gathering Place

((Update!
It seems, for some reason unknown to myself, that the Gathering for Wolves has been deleted. Willowfeather has kindly made another gathering place for us, and I've replaced the banner in the sidebar. Go there for gatherings from now on instead!!!
For reference, here's the link to the new Gathering.
That's all for today. Keep posting!))

More Plot + New Member

((At last, another new member! However there are two things I'd like to point out to Lionstar because I need to know. XD
First of all, you didn't say what her rank was. Hunter, Guard, Apprentice, ect. (I would have MUCH prefered you used the form I have. I beleive I have said before that if you don't use the form I'm not going to add you. However I'm in a particularly nice mood today and am adding you anyway.)
Second, the picture you had has (technically) already been used. One of my own characters, Twister, uses the exact same photo except for having a black stripe down her back. Either you can give me a different one, or I'll find one for you. ☺
Anyway, on to the plot!))

Clawface leapt up to the Tallrock and threw her head back in a long howl. "Let all those old enough to catch their own prey join beneath the Tallrock for a Pack meeting!" Nearly all the wolves in the pack flooded into the clearing. They stared up at their Alpha, waiting to hear what she had to say.
"We have a new wolf in our pack this evening," Clawface barked from atop her perch. "Make welcome Snow, our newest ((*insert rank here*)), and do not exclude her from your daily lives. She is one of us now, and has accepted the life of a Moonpack wolf. Meeting dismissed!"

Snow! Snow! Snow! Snow!

Suddenly the barks died down as a jet-black wolf burst through the entrance to the camp. Numerous wolves sprang to their feet and bared their fangs, fur bristling as they prepared to defend their packmates to the death.
The black wolf shied noticeably.
Clawface leapt down from the Tallrock, her chin lifted slightly. "Who are you?"
The black wolf, seeing the Alpha, replied "Greetings, Clawface."
Clawface's expression was completely unreadable. "Answer my question."
The newcomer dipped her head. "I am Moonshine," she replied softly.
Clawface looked Moonshine over carefully. The black wolf would have been completely normal if it wasn't for the glowing mark on her forehead, which caught her attention. Clawface had never seen anything like it.
"Why are you here?"
"To help you." Moonshine lifted her head. "Moonpack is in grave danger."
Clawface's tone was even. "How would you know?"
Venom snarled behind Clawface.
Moonshine eyed him. "That I cannot tell you. I am only here to warn you of the terrible fate you are destined to walk."
There were more growls.
Clawface flicked her tail for silence. "Why should we trust you?"
"Because I ask you to."

((Now you post your reactions.....also, just to twist the plot, I need someone to fall in love with Moonshine.))

Yayz, Moar Plot!

((Took me forever to write this! Hope it's not too long! Enjoy!))

A faint light shone from the heart of a shaded, sheltered cave. It was nothing more than a glow, but nevertheless it was there.
A trickle of water tumbled through the round hole in the ceiling, but other than that it was nearly silent. The gentle rippling sound of the water, combined with the shadows and the light sparkling on the pool, gave the place an almost magical air of mystery and siege.
Photobucket
Presently, three beings stepped from the shadows. Each stepped carefully and lightly, one paw at a time, disturbing nothing. But then again, they didn't seem to be 'stepping' at all. Their paws were shrouded in a thick gray mist that hung over the floor of the cave. Or perhaps their paws were the mist. They just didn’t seem to be there. One couldn’t be sure.
The three wolves each, in turn, sat around the pool. The water fell between them, separating the connection they had shared a moment ago.
"The danger is near,” A shimmering white one said, folding her huge, pale, feathered wings close to her body.
The faded gray wolf shook her head. One ear flopped at the tip. "Moonpack are doomed if they fail to discover what has been happening. Much blood will be shed." Her unseen claws scraped at the rock in agitation.
The last Starpack wolf was inky black in color. A white mark glowed softly on her forehead as she spoke. "Venom and his allies planned well," she barked. "None but Sunray have suspected anything. That was his error, but he seems to be covering it well.”
“But what are we to do?” The gray one shifted from paw to invisible paw restlessly. “We can’t wait for Venom to make another mistake. He’ll shroud his plans even more thoroughly this time.”
“We need to tell Clawface more,” the white wolf growled. “Before it’s too late”
The black wolf shook her head. “No. We live by prophecies and dreams. To give things as plain as day would be to destroy that meaning. We must continue to hint.”
“But the hints we’ve given haven’t been enough,” the gray wolf sighed. She swished her tail once. “I fear. The enemy is growing stronger by the day. There isn’t much time.”
The darkest wolf studied the falling water for a moment. “I will accompany them in these hard times,” she finally barked quietly.
“Moonshine, no!” The white wolf sprang to her feet, wings beginning to spread. “I can’t allow you to leave our ranks and rejoin their world. You are one of us.”
Moonshine’s gaze didn’t waver from the white one’s. “But they need guidance. They have not discovered this sacred place, and Mystic and Bud have no where, no way to communicate to us but by dreams.” Her voice was barely above a whisper. “Reincarnate me, Blitz. I will serve my purpose till it is time for me to rejoin the ranks of Starpack.”
The white wolf, apparently being known by the name of Blitz, blinked once. She sighed and bowed her head. “Very well. Serve your duty to our living kin in your brief time of reliving, Moonshine.” She looked over at the gray wolf. “You will call her back when her purpose has been fulfilled.”
The gray wolf nodded.
Moonshine dipped her head as well. “Thank you, Blitz. I will do my best.”
The gray wolf wearily eyes closed for a moment. Then her dreary, silent voice sounded, like the sorrowful voice of a mourning spirit. “Brace your soul,” she murmured. “The pain of a thousand heartbreaks will overtake you during your living.”
Moonshine watched the gray wolf uneasily. “I understand, Echo. I will prepare for the worst.”
Blitz lifted her chin slightly. “Say the word, and you will live again.”
Moonshine hesitated, then closed her eyes. “Now.”
There was a blinding flash, and Moonshine tensed, feeling a wave wash over her. Blood ran through her veins, and she felt her heart beat in her chest for the first time in more moons than she could count. A faint breeze ruffled through her pelt.
She opened her eyes.
She was alone. She still sat at the edge of the pool, but she was alone. She looked down at herself. She could see her black paws, tucked neatly in front of her. She glanced at her back with a mild sigh. Her wings had vanished.
Moonshine stood and stretched out her new muscles. She ruffled her smooth velvety fur slightly, and leaned over the pool. Her reflection stared back at her.
The glowing mark on her forehead remained. Moonshine smiled slightly, and darted out of the cave, toward the Moonpack camp.

Clawface swiftly leapt up to the Tallrock. Standing atop the highest point in the camp, she threw her head back and let out a long howl. "Let all those old enough to catch their own prey join beneath the Tallrock for a Pack meeting!"
The wolves of Moonpack were soon gathered beneath their Alpha, and she began.
"We have a new member among us." She let her yellow gaze fall on the black wolf that sat below her. "Make welcome Howl, our newest Hunter, and do not exclude him from your daily activities. He is one of us now. Meeting dismissed!"

Howl! Howl! Howl! Howl!

((Fishstar, I've added Howl to the list of members....I ran into one problem though. XD Is Howl male or female? *Sheepish grin* I assumed he was a he, but what do I know. :P Get posting!))

New Ally

Clawface leapt up to the Tallrock and let out a resounding howl. It bounced around the clearing and echoed across the territory, sounding mournful though really it was to summon many for good news. It replied back with an empty, though identical, howl of it's own.
"Let all those old enough to catch their own prey join beneath the Tallrock for a pack Meeting!" Clawface looked around at the wolves below.
"We have a new Ally this evening," she barked. "Thunderpack has joined links with us, and we shall help and reinforce each other when troubled times arrive. Treat Thunderpack with no hostility, for they are in alliance with us now. Meeting dismissed!"
The alpha leapt down from the rock and returned to her duties.
Venom growled silently to himself. A new ally. Just what he needed, when his plans were so close to being complete. But the rogues had chosen to conceal themselves for the time being, so as not to arouse suspision. He was unsure if anyone suspected him, but he knew that a few times he had returned with their stench still clinging faintly to his fur. He would have to warn them. But how could he reach them, when they had chosen to keep apart from each other for a few moons?

Poll Results!

((Well, the results are in and the Poll is closed.
11 out of 11 people think having a gamma and Delta is a good idea. XD

I'll update the list with the following info:

I. Romeo is Gamma
II. Amber is Delta (Alado has called the Delta position if Amber has to leave for some reason or resigns)

Congrats, you guys! ))

Sunningrocks

Sunningrocks

These warm, sunbathed rocks lie not far from the Falls, beside and in the river that creates it. They are relaxing and peaceful to lie on, and a good place to warm up even in the cold months of leaf-bare.

Update

((Before you read this, read the last 'new member' post! There's some info in there that you all should probably know.
Well, now I've decided to just make another post with all the updates and extras that I've done to Moonpack.

I. I lack the time and the patience to keep that 'wolves who need to post' box that used to be under the header updated. So I put a 'recent comments' box into the sidebar (I called it 'recent barks') . It shows the last 7 comments that were posted. Check it often!

II. Considering Hawkace (alias Night) is the Beta, I haven't deleted her character although she has been rather inactive. Instead, I'm thinking it may be a good idea to make two more high ranks: the Gamma, or the head Guard, and the Delta, the head Hunter. I'm going to put a poll into the sidebar as soon as I'm finished with this post so you can vote on whether it's a good idea. ☺ (Note: If this idea goes through, then there will be a new rule: a person can have only ONE special position. These high positions are: The Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Medic, and Medic Apprentice. You can only have one of these, so choose wisely.

III. I also updated something on the join page. This is the second time this has come up so I'd like to clarify it. There can only be one Omega in Moonpack. I don't want too many softies! :P Currently that position is held by Willowfeather's character, Jasper.

IV. Y'know, come to think of it, wouldn't the Omega rank be considered a special rank too? Hm. Don't panic Willowfeather, if I end up deciding that it is a special rank, you can keep both your Omega and Medic Apprentice ranks. I won't steal them from you. ☺

V. Absolute must, here. When you're making a character, USE THE FORM I PROVIDED!!!!! Don't use someone else's! The stuff I ask for in that form is there for a reason, as well as the stuff that isn't. From now on, any wolves who don't use that form WILL NOT BE ADDED!

Hope that wasn't too long! Sorry. ☺ Keep posting!))

Clawface leapt up to the Tallrock. She let out a long, rather mournful sounding howl: "Let all those old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Tallrock for a pack meeting!"
Once the wolves had gathered beneath her as commanded, the Alpha continued. "We have a new member among us. Make welcome Whisper, our newest Hunter, and do not exclude her from your daily activities. She is one of us now. Meeting dismissed!"

Whisper! Whisper! Whisper! Whisper!

((Alado, I know in Whisper's form you said she was an Omega. Well, a pack can only have one Omega. It was my fault, I didn't actually say that in the thing about them. Anyway, as you can see, I made Whisper a Hunter instead. I can change that if you want. ☺ Also, I don't really care for the picture of her because it looks rather unrealistic, considering all the purple and pink grass. XD Do you have another one that you'd like me to use?))

Update

((OMG, I am SO sorry guys! Last night's dance practice went till 8:45, not 8:15 like I thought! Other things detained my getting online, and I missed the gathering! D: Not like I really missed that much, we're the only pack that even remembered it. >< Oh brother. Whyyyyyyyy? Eh, let's just hope the Gathering is more active next time.
No time to post a plot post. Nothing really to say either, since the bad guys are laying low for a while. :P ))

At Last a New Member

Clawface flexed her strong muscles and leapt swiftly up to the Tallrock. She threw back her head and howled "Let all those old enough to catch their own prey join beneath the Tallrock for a Pack meeting!"
Once the wolves had assembled beneath their Alpha, Clawace began.
"We have a new wolf among our ranks. Make welcome our newest Guard, Jazz. Treat him as one of us and do not reject him from your activities. Meeting dismissed." These words said, Clawface leapt from the Tallrock and padded away, where she watched from the sidelines and wolves gathered around Jazz, welcoming and congratulating him.

Jazz! Jazz! Jazz! Jazz! Jazz!

((I'll add Jazz to the list of members as soon as I get home tonight. I'm away from home, using a macbook and an aircard. For some odd reason the aircard keeps disconnecting and it won't let me add him! ><
Glad to have you Jazz!
EDIT:
Oh, BTW....Swirly Girl has most unexpectedly given me (us, really) an award!

Update + More Plot....

((Added a couple more songs to the Playlist......the one, Highwayman, is one of my favorites of all time. Rather dreary if you listen to the words, but a great song! (click de cut off 'pop-out' button to see all teh songs. :3 )
More plot. XD ))

Venom had left Sunray in the Hunter's den, with a quickly improvised excuse that he 'had business to attend to'. She accepted the words quite readily, which made Venom feel rather guilty. His only consolation was the fact that this meant he was a good liar.
The lie was true to some extent. Venom raced through the woods, his heart beating wildly. He had seen Rogue's condition after being attacked, and he had a pretty good idea of who was guilty.
"Funny," Venom thought as he pounded down the trail, "rather ironic how Rogue's name happens to be the term used for outcasts of a pack, and the wolves who attacked him. Poor guy." However, he soon dismissed these thoughts as he crossed over the Moonpack border and entered the swamp. The smell of the rogues was strong and fresh. They were expecting him.
Venom slowed his pace and carefully chose every pawstep. One misstep, and he would fall into and drown in the dark, forbidding, poisonous waters.
There was a rustle, and he looked up sharply. As he had expected and feared, the rogues emerged, one after the other, from the sickly plants. Their ears were pinned flat against their bony skulls and their crooked yellow teeth showed menacingly.
Venom tried to be casual. "You treat me as an intruder. Why?"
"You neglected us."
Venom flinched slightly at the tone. "I was busy. Besides, you can't expect the pack to not notice me just slipping off all the time, can you?"
"Stupid pack wolves wouldn't notice." The rogues' evil looks didn't waver.
"They noticed when you attacked my pack mate!!"
The larger of the two rogues tensed. Venom, shocked with both himself and the outcast's response, snapped "In any case, my apologies." He swished his tail irritably. "But now, because you couldn't wait one more day, Clawface has the entire pack on careful watch for you."
The rogues exchanged glances. When they looked back up, Venom saw some sort of strange glimmer in their dark, cruel eyes.
"....what?" Venom shifted from paw to paw uncertainly.
The smaller of the two stood. His eyes burned with wicked hate. "We need to move a step further."
"How so?" Venom growled.
~~~
As soon as the plan was explained, Venom nodded. "It'll work. I only hope you two fleabags aren't rabid or I'll need some serious help."
Update
((*Headdesk* Gathering's not till May 10, my bad. That's what I get for trying to be 'smart' and not rereading the post at the Gathering. I skimmed it, grabbed the first date I saw and connected it to the rescheduled Gathering day. Sorry. XD Been kinda sick lately, last night I had a sore throat and today I felt just flat out lousy. Seems to have gone away now, but I'm not going to get my hopes too high.......
Rather tired tonight. Don't have the energy to write out another of my incredibly long plot posts. :P I'll post something soon! ☺
Thanks for being patient with me. Hope you're not too disappointed.))
Swirly Girl and Moon are Back!
((Welcome back SG and Moon! As you've already found out, Moon's character Mystic is the new Medic, after being Nanack's apprentice. Mystic has an apprentice now too: Bud (as in flower bud ;) ) She's in the list down near the bottom if you want to see her. ☺
Also, Willowfeather, it took me a while, but your character Cloud's mentor is now Flick. (Another of Moon's wolves. XD ) Sorry for the wait!
Thanks guys! ))
Deletion Completion
((All right. I'm online. As warned in the last post, Thunderstar's and Deathstar's characters have now been deleted.
Thunderstar's characters:
Jay
Star
Snowdancer
Ghost
Crow
Nanack (Was the medic. When you come back, Moon, Mystic is now the new Medic)
Deathstar's characters:
Quest
Blackfoot
You guys aren't part of the pack anymore. I'll be happy to re-add you if you come back and want to stick around. For now, you're not in the list.))
We Will Lose TWO MEMBERS.
((Alright. Lemme make this loud and clear.
Deathstar, Thunderstar, you're gonna get deleted if you don't post. It has been not three weeks as stated for deletion, but four weeks since you last posted.
Looking on my calendar here, Thunderstar, I've given you AN EXTRA WEEK to post and you haven't. Same will be for you, Deathstar, tomorrow. I have given you both four weeks to post and I haven't seen you anywhere.
If you two haven't posted by the time I get on around 7:30 tonight, I will delete you both. Enough said?
If you do come back after I've deleted you, I will be more than happy to re-add your characters.
However, there will be one drawback for Thunderstar. If Nanack, the Medic, is deleted, her apprentice Mystic will take her place. Permanently. Nanack will be either a Hunter or Guard from then on. No ifs, ands, or buts. Go and post if you wanna keep that position.))
More Plot. Also...
((Drats! Gathering isn't tonight, after all. >_> SG wont be around till May 5, so the Gathering is postponed till then. Not to worry however, everyone mentioned in the last post will be going. ☺ Here's the finish of the plot I started two posts ago...))
Not long later, Rogue was positioned as comfortably as possible in Nanack's den. Clawface paced back and forth outside the den. She had seen his deep, shredded wounds. That was bad enough, without the possibility of those disgusting outcast's claws being infected with anything...or even...Clawface tried desperately to push the thought away, but it came anyway.
Rabid.
The Alpha was unsure as to why she felt so panicked. She could even feel her heart thumping against her chest. It had been ages since she had even noticed it. It felt strange.
Of course, she had been worried when Night fell ill, but this seemed...different. How it was different, Clawface didn't know. She immensely disliked the feeling of helplessness that overwhelmed her. She wasn't used to it, and it enraged her. But a moment later, Nanack emerged from the den, Mystic padding behind her.
Clawface was in the medic's face in a moment. "How is he?"
When Nanack hesitated, Clawface snarled. "Talk to me!"
Mystic's eyes widened slightly. Nanack jerked her head back, surprised by the harshly spewed sentence. "He should make a full recovery. How long that will take, I've no idea. At least a moon. Likely more."
Clawface bared her fangs at the ground and stormed away. Her eyes flashed like lightning and she curled into a tight ball inside her den. She shut her eyes and buried her nose in her tail.
Suddenly, they snapped open again. What was wrong with her? Why was she so enraged? Why hadn't she acted this way when Night was ill? These thoughts infuriated her. She was more intense about Rogue than her own Beta? Clawface, disgusted with herself, knew what she needed to do. She stepped out of her den and did he rbest to keep her cool as she headed to the prey-pile. She grabbed a rabbit, placed it between her paws, and shredded it. She ripped it apart as best she could till there wasn't much left. She lapped up a few pieces of meat, and kicked the bits of fur into the brush. The pleasure of simply tearing into something and letting all her stress out on it eased her emotions, and in a much better temper she trotted a short ways from the camp to find another rabbit to replace the one she had just demolished.
The Gathering!
((Apologies for not being on last night! I'm waay to busy....as it is, the Gathering is tonight! I suppose it'll start around....7:00? 7:30? No defininte time as far as I know (or can remember XD ). We'll show up in that time range I guess. Here's a list of the seven wolves going:
Kisharu (Willowfeather)
Alado (Pebble)
Amber (Amber)
Mystic (Moon)
Sunray (Swirly Girl)
Matias (Scareyes)
Gentleheart (Angel, Honey and Gentleheart)
Link to the Gathering is in the sidebar. Click the pic, if you didn't already know. I'll finish the plot in this same post tonight when I have more time. ☺ ))
Poll Results, and Finally More of the Plot
((Poll is now closed, looks like you guys like the idea of a playlist huh? Cool. I'll get working on it soon!
Now, for the plot which I so lazily neglected and you so kindly contributed to...))
Venom led Sunray out of the camp, intending to show her around the territory. He loped down a beaten deer trail, glancing back at the ginger she-wolf. She looked so beautiful, with her smooth ginger coat blending with the blooming green and brown forest. His pink tongue hung out of his mouth in a very cute way and he barked "Catch me if you can!" He darted off into the woods, the still air breezing lightly through his own deep brown pelt.
Suddenly Venom skidded to a stop. He could smell a familiar scent. A disgustingly familar stench.
The rogues.
What were they doing this far into the territory? The thought pierced a sliver of pure fear in his heart, and he whirled and rushed the other way. Terrible, frightening thoughts ran through his head.
"What if Clawface discovers them? What if they attack the camp ahead of the plan? What if Sunray smells that and flips out? What if I'm found out? What if....what if....."
He whisked past Sunray and pounded back down the trail. Luckily, she didn't suspect anything and raced after him, laughing.
~~~
The next day...

Clawface trotted along the same trail, in search of prey. Rogue and Tumbleweed were also in her presence somewhere behind. Rogue had headed off into the bushes, hot on the trail of what smelled like a fat, juicy rabbit that would feed at least two pups.
Clawface pricked one blue-gray ear. She could hear the faint rustling of something under the leaves. She sniffed intently, and picked up the definite scent of vole. The Alpha crouched, and stealthily crept forward. She could see the vole now. It had just emerged from underneath a big, wide maple leaf and was creeping slowly into an old hollow log. Her yellow eyes burned into the prey and she was just ready to spring when suddenly a loud, whining howl echoed from somewhere behind her.
The vole vanished inside the log and Clawface turned. Tumbleweed's almond-shaped eyes were wide. "That sounded like Rogue!"
Clawface didn't answer. Tumbleweed felt a faint breeze as the Alpha passed by her, pelting back the way they had come. She moved so quickly her ears were flattened against her skull by the wind. She could smell something. Something not of her pack. She could hear Tumbleweed behind her.
Clawface burst through a patch of briars. The thorns tore at her coat, but she ignored them and focused on what she saw in front of her. Two wolves wrestled and snapped and tore at what appeared to be Rogue. He was battered, and bloody, and his muzzle was stained with blood. All three of the fighting trio were.
The two strangers were each brown, though oe was smaller than the other. Clawface let out a deafening, raging snarl and leapt into the fray. Almost instantly she clamped her teeth over the bent, deformed paw of one, ad tasted blood in her mouth. This attack was met with a high-pitched whine, and it was soon off into the bushes. The other, seeing it's partner was gone, let out a shriek of terror and followed close behind.
Rogue lay motionless. Clawface could see his side rising and falling, but that wouldn't last long. Turning on Tumbleweed, she growled "Find Nanack! Now!"
Tumbleweed dashed off into the brush.

((Will finish tomorrow! Gotta go to bed!))

Update

((Hey everyone!

I. Wanted to mention a couple of people I'd like to post...
1. Angel. Skeet is still at the Big Rocks...where did you go? Come back!
2. Scareyes. Still waiting for you to reply to my posts at the falls!
3. Swirly Girl. You haven't posted in a while either! Just because I put Sunray in the last plot post, doesn't mean I'm going to continue playing her! She's your character, as are all the others! Bring them back!

II. I would post more of the plot, speaking of which, but I seem to have writer's block tonight. I'm flat out of ideas to move the story along. Perhaps those mentioned above would come back and help the pack start moving again. As it is, there are only three people which I see around here often (and who I'm highly pleased with). Amber, Alado, and Willowfeather. Keep up the good work, guys!

III. Please, please, PLEASE tell everyone you can about us! We haven't had any new members in ages! Grab a button, go and announce it in Cboxes, post a note in your blogs, whatever. Just help us get more members! We're moving too slowly here!

That's all for today. Ugh, I'm really tired. Gotta run off to bed because its so dang late!))

Join Lightningpack!

((Hey everyone! I wanted to make note of this. Alado closed down her old pack, Wolfpack, and has opened a new (and improved) one known as Lightningpack! It's a great pack, I've just joined and I suggest you do too. ☺

Click here to go to Lightningpack!

See you there!

Feeling Weirded Out...

((Was just checking up on the blog when suddenly all the gadgets at the side of the page disappeared! None of the pictures show up, none of the banners down at the bottom either. The only stuff I can see is the poll, the box about it, and moon phase calendar (which wont load fully) Can you guys see it?))

Mistake on the Map!

((Before you read, make sure you read the update just before the two 'place posts' before this one. It has more of the plot and some information about the poll in the sidebar.
I just realized I made a mistake on the Map of the Territories! I had Moonpack and Nightpack in the wrong places! I've fixed it and switched the labels around, so here's the link to the map. I've left it full size so you can see the tiny writing. If you stuck my map in your Packs, change it to this one ASAP!))

The River

Wolf with salmon

This river runs through Moonpack territory and tumbles over a ledge into a waterfall. It is overrun with salmon during Newleaf and very early Greenleaf, and presents a temptingly juicy place to find prey. Beware, though. The river narrows into a rather deep gorge near the middle, and poses a threat to any wolf who might accidentally slide in.

The Swamp

Dark Swamp
This dreary, soggy swamp lies just at the edge of the Moonpack border and extends beyond into places no pack patrols. Death and disease lurk here, and apprentices are forbidden to set paw in this place.

Poll, Some Other News, and More of the Plot

((So, as you can see, I added a poll to the sidebar. Seems that playlists are a popular thing around here, and as I love music I thought it might be nice to add one. So go ahead and vote! I already voted....XD I must note that I will not be putting modern Hannah Montana or Lady Gaga songs in Moonpack.....more like some celtic music, maybe some soundtracks from How to Train Your Dragon and Alice in Wonderland, ect. ect.
Another thing.
Oceanwing/Tigerlilly, you need to post. Now. You've only been in the Cbox, and I'm beginning to notice that you haven't posted any of your characters anywhere. You need to go and post or I might get snappy. You only need to post in one or two places to start a conversation with another character. Post once in the nursery, at the prey-pile, whatever. We'd all love another person to talk with!
And now for the plot which I have so lazily ceased to add to.))

Venom was padding through the camp, showing Sunray around. He had just come from the Willow Tree ((mate's page, if you've been reading there)), and he had a girl following him. She seemed to like him. A lot.
He barely knew her, but then again she was a member of the pack, so he was sure he'd see her quite a lot. He could already see Sunray was an attractive she-wolf. What else was there about her he didn't know?
Venom looked up. It was almost sunhigh. He knew the two rogues out by the swamp would be waiting for him...Venom hesitated, then made up his mind. "They can wait. I'd prefer to have a girlfriend than spending time with those two scraggly lumps of fur." The brown wolf glanced back at Sunray. The corner of his mouth twitched as he almost smiled (if wolves could smile).
~~~
The pair of rogues were indeed by the swamp, as Venom knew they would be. And they weren't happy.
"Where is he?" One of them growled. "We told him to be here by sunhigh."
"Stupid pack wolves," the other jeered. "They don't know how to keep their heads on straight. I'm surprised none of the wolves of any of the packs have scented us yet."
"You dung-face. Death and disease lurk here. No wolves except those malf mad come here."
"Then I suppose we are half mad, then. Let's get out of here. Venom can hear it from us next time." With that, the wolves slunk away and disappeared in the drooping bushes, back to where they had come from.
Where that was, none but Venom would know for a long time.
Map of the Territories
I made this map not long ago of the current packs. I apologize, but I wont be able to squeeze any more packs that are made in there. Not enough room or patience for now. XD But anyway, I went to the Gathering for wolves, copied all the info about the territories, and arranged them into a logical pattern that fit the topography.
Hope you understood that sentence.
The circles are mountains, the blue is water. ☺ I hope you can read the captions! if not, here is the link to the pic.
Something for Swirly Girl
((Hey SG! I saw you were having trouble getting the moon phase calendar to show up directly in the Gathering, so you used a link instead. Here's quick directions for you (and everyone else who wants to know how!)
1. Make an HTML/Javascript gadget in your blog.
2. Click the moon in my calendar. A new window will come up with just the calendar. Below it in tiny gray words it'll say 'Add to: website' and 'Facebook'.
3. Click the word 'website', and it'll take you to the page where you can get the code.
4. Go down and accept the terms of agreement, and then copy and paste the code into the gadget. It's already preset to look the way we want it for blogs, so you don't need to mess with it. ☺
I tried to get the code to show up in this post, but it wouldn't work. Rawrg.
Hope it works! If you have any trouble just let me know!))
Rule Change!
((All right, so it's not really a 'change'. I've polished the rules to suit my likes, and added a couple. Here they are:
1. BE AWARE. If, without warning, you have not posted or otherwise been active (chatbox counts) in three weeks, I will not move your wolf to the elders den. I will delete him/her. I don't like to do it, but it's for the better. However, if you return I will be happy to re-add your wolves. Also, try to post (chatbox does not count) at least once a week.
2. You are free to have as many characters as you want. But you have to play them. Don't create a character just to make a character. Don't get in over your head. There isn't really a limit or deadline for this, but I don't want inactive wolves that never do anything!
3. If and when you're making a (new) character, be sure to check the list of members at the side of the page. I continually keep this updated and organized. If you see that there are way more males than she-wolves, or Guards than Hunters, ect., try to help balance this out. The pack needs all the different wolves. Also, check to see if a name you're using hasn't already been taken.
If you've read these rules, put 'blue moon' at the top of your form.
4. Don't powerplay (be super powerful), God-mod (control another character's actions), flame (be mean to others in real life), or spam (Stupid Pointless Annoying Messages)
5. Do not swear or curse. I will kick you out after one warning.
6. RP in third person, please.
Suggestions? Post them here. Arguments? Post them here. Kudos? Post them here.
Now get outta here and have some fun with the other wolves! ☺ ))
Quick Update
 ((Hello, fellow pack members. I just wanted to post a couple of things.
I. I really am watching your activity. I am keeping track of all of you. Most of you are very active and I'm highly pleased, but there are two people who haven't posted since late March or early April.
I really, honestly hate to use names, but I want those two to see this so if they check back they know.
1. Thunderstar (Nanack, Jay, Snowdancer, Star, Crow). Last post was March 28.
2. Deathstar (Quest, Blackfoot). Last post was April 2.
Remember that to be deleted you have been inactive for three weeks, but once a week has gone by then I really start paying attention. XD There are no hard feelings in this. But I want you two to get posting!
II. Suggestion for Swirly Girl at the Gathering for Wolves. It would probably be a good idea to stick a moon phase calendar in the Gathering's sidebar. You can get one just by clicking the one in mine.
Now that I think about it, if any of you have a pack of your own you should all put a calendar in there. They're all the same, and it'll be easier to be accurate at the first Gathering (which, mind you, I cannot wait for!).
III. Mate's page food for thought: There are two more females than males looking for mates, and a couple of the males are rather inactive. Hey girls, you want a mate? You'd better work for one! I am considering creating one more male character for myself that is looking for a mate, just to help even things out. But it's also up to the boy's RPers to get posting!
Okay, so maybe that wasn't really all that 'quick'. Oh well. Thanks guys!))
The Gathering for Wolves
Hello everyone! I was wanted to post this because Swirly Girl has opened a Gathering for Wolves. From now on, every full moon (according to the moon phase calendar in the sidebar) the wolf packs will hold a gathering, like the clan cats. I will put the banner in the sidebar for you, and just for reference I'll stick it here at well.
Create your own banner at mybannermaker.com!
I will personally choose seven wolves to go to the gathering. You wanna go? Post more. I reward active members.
Thanks Swirly Girl!
EDIT: The banner is a little big for the sidebar...later on I'll see if I can make a smaller one. ☺
Oh, by the way...105 unique people have looked at Moonpack! Woot! *Passes out cake*
Another New Member to Close the Day!
Clawface leapt up to the Tallrock, for probably the last time that day. She let out a long howl: "Let all those old enough to catch their own prey join beneath the Tallrock for a Pack meeting!"
She continued as the wolves assembled beneath her. "We have yet another new member with us this day. Make welcome Amber, a Hunter. Do not exclude her from your daily lives. Meeting dismissed!
Amber! Amber! Amber! Amber!
((I wasn't able to access the picture of Amber. Can you post a different link? If you can't, I can find a picture for you. ☺
Either way is fine! Thanks for joining!))
More New Members!
"Let all those old enough to catch their own prey join beneath the Tallrock for a Pack meeting!"
The call was clear and sound, and it was heard throughout the camp. The numerous wolves gathered underneath the rock and looked up at their Alpha, standing strong above them, to hear what she had to say.
"We have new wolves in our Pack," Clawface barked. "Let me introduce you to Gentleheart, our newest Hunter, and Angel and her pup Honey. Do not exclude them from your daily activities, and care for and provide for them as you would for kin. Meeting dismissed!"
Gentleheart! Angel! Honey! Gentleheart! Angel! Honey!
((I'm assuming Honey is Angel's pup? That wasn't mentioned in their forms, so I wasn't sure. Let me know when you get the chance. I'll be happy to change it as neccesary.
Welcome to the pack!
Also....we've hit 91 unique people visiting Moonpack! Let's try to make it to 100...make sure you have a badge on one of your blogs!))
The Three Tree Cliff
Three Tree Cliff
This cliff overlooks the entire Moonpack territory. It is a good lookout, though hard to get to, and surrounded by a trio of odd, prickly trees.
The Big Rocks
Big Rocks
This odd formation of rocks lies at the end of Moonpack territory. No one knows how it got there, or why it stands alone. But it is an interesting challenge to climb, and much prey hides in the cracks.
New Members
Clawface leapt swiftly up to the Tallrock from the ground below. She threw back her head and let out a long, echoing howl. "Let all those old enough to catch their own prey join beneath the Tallrock for a pack meeting!" The wolves were soon gathered undereath their Alpha, and she barked "We have new members this day. Make welcome Flick, our newest Guard. Also rever and appreciate our newest apprentice, Mystic. She will train to be Moonpack's next Medic under the careful and knowledgable guidance of Nanack. I trust her mentor will pass on all her wisdom to this young apprentice. Meeting dismissed!"
Clawface watched as the wolves in the clearing surrounded the two new members, greeting them.
Flick! Mystic! Flick! Mystic! Flick! Mystic!
Update
((Hello everyone! Just have a few announcements...
○ We've hit 73 different people viewing Moonpack!
○ I see most of you are beginning to get involved. I've been watching with much pleasure a conversation in the Guard's den that wasn't sparked by me. ☺ This makes me happy.
○ We've quite a few wolves looking for mates...I already see a cute pair down by the falls. XD If you're playing one of the wolves that wants a mate, I'd suggest looking at the Mate's Page. (It's in the link list in the sidebar at right) I'm also willing to do a little matchmaking, if you insist.
○ If you haven't already, grab a badge and stick it in one of your blogs ☺ There's one in the sidebar, and there's a page in the link list with three more.
That's all for today! Keep posting...
Also, changed the picture that appears next to my posts. So don't get confused. XD))
New Members, and More of the Plot
((Okay! New members first! Deathstar, I have currently decided there can only be one Omega in Moonpack. I may change this in the future, but for now there's only room for one. XD I put Blackfoot in with the Hunters. If you'd like me to change this and make him into a Guard instead I'd be happy to do that. Thanks for joining! ☺))
Clawface leapt up to the Tallrock from the soft Newleaf ground below. She gave a long, echoing howl: "Let all those old enough to catch their own prey join beneath the Tallrock for a Pack meeting!"
She began. "We have new wolves within our bounds. Make welcome our newest Guard, Quest. Include him in your activities, and value him as one of us. Also greet our newest Hunter, Blackfoot. He will feed the Pack and serve it as one of us. Treat them both well. Meeting dismissed!"
Quest! Blackfoot! Quest! Blackfoot!
~~~~~

Once the meeting was over and Clawface had leapt from the Tallrock, Venom growled slightly to himself. Another Guard and Hunter only meant stronger forces against his plans. He swished his tail and padded casually away while the other wolves were greeting the newcomers. He had things to do. Places to go. Allies to visit.
The brown guard slipped along down a small beaten deer trail. He kept low to the ground, and was careful not to make any sound. The only stuff under his paws was soft grass that had begun to spout with Newleaf, so he made no noise. After much walking, Venom finally came to the border of Moonpack's territory. There was much of it.
He stepped over the boundary, and headed down to a marshy, swampy stretch of woods. Disease lurked here, and apprentices were forbidden to stray to these parts. Venom sat down, and waited. It wouldn't be long now.
Presently, two skinny, ragged figures slunk into the clearing. Both were brown, though one was darker than the other. The darker one had four bony legs covered in scars, and there was a little blood matted into his fur. The other was a little smaller, but he had a deformed ear and a twisted, ugly paw. The end of his tail was missing.
"Finally," Venom growled.
The smaller wolf had a high-pitched voice as it replied "We had a little trouble with a neighboring pack. It's not our fault."
"It wont matter for long." The darker one had a deep, raspy voice. "Soon, we will rule the entire forest."

New Members

Clawface leapt up to the Tallrock. She threw her head back and let out a long howl. "Let all those old enough to catch their own prey join beneath the Tallrock for a Pack meeting!"
The wolves were soon assembled underneath her, and she began. "We have new members among us this day. Make welcome Spark, our first queen, and her pups Daisy, Aquene, and Eclipse. Include them in your daily lives, and hunt for, defend, and care for them as you would your own kin. Meeting dismissed!"

Spark! Daisy! Aquene! Eclipse! Spark! Daisy! Aquene! Eclipse!

Monday, March 29, 2010

Another New Member!

Clawface tilted one eyebrow (or the place it would have been if she had any). "And yet another has joined our ranks..."
She leapt up to the Tallrock again. "Let all those old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Tallrock for a Pack meeting!"
Many wolves were still in the clearing, but now in surprised curiosity they flooded around the Tallrock.
"We have yet another Hunter within our camp," Clawface barked. "Make welcome Alado, and do not exclude her from your daily lives." She looked down at the pretty white she-wolf below her. "Meeting dismissed."

Alado! Alado! Alado! Alado!

New Members

EDIT:
((Hey everyone! If you're reading this on March 29, 8:42 PM, grab a telescope and take a look outside for a rare celestial sight! Both Venus and Mercury are visible tonight!!!!!! Have fun! End edit.))

Clawface, feeling lighthearted, leapt up to the Tallrock. She gave a full, strong howl. "Let all those old enough to catch their own prey join beneath the Tallrock for a Pack meeting!" Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Night pad appear in the entrance of the Medic's den to watch.
Once the clearing was filled with wolves, Clawface began.
"We have new wolves in our company. Make welcome our two newest Hunters, Spiral and Raindancer." The blue-gray she-wolf looked down fondly at the pair, the continued. "We also have an Apprentice joining. Niagara, your mentor will be Tiko. I trust he will pass on all his knowledge and experience as a Hunter to you. Serve your pack well. Meeting dismissed!"

Spiral! Raindancer! Niagara! Spiral! Raindancer! Niagara!

((Swirly Girl, in Niagara's form you didn't mention what she was training to be. It's my fault, I should have put a reminder in the form (I will as soon as I post this post) but for now I'm assuming she's training to be a Hunter. If this isn't right I'll be happy to fix it. Hope to hear from you soon!))

Night has Returned!

Clawface had perched next to the prey-pile, quietly devouring a rabbit that someone had brought, when she felt the cold touch of a nose to her shoulder.
"What is it, Nanack."
"She's getting better."
Clawface looked up. "...what?"
Nanack nodded. Clawface could see a spark in her yellow eyes. "Night is recovering."
Clawface rose and headed for the Medicine den. Nanack followed her.
Clawface nosed her way into the den. Night was on a bed off moss in the corner. She was sitting up, though, and her eyes were bright and clear.
"Hello, Night." Clawface padded in and sat next to her Beta.
Night returned the greeting with a flick from her black tail. "I'll be up and running before you know it. I hope you weren't to worried about me."
Clawface shrugged. "Next time, say so when you start coughing. There's much I need to tell you."

Nanack sat back and watched as the Alpha and Night conversed. The skies seemed to be brightening. But the warning of the prophecy still hung in the air, and Nanack could tell Clawface was on edge. She waited, while Clawface explained the prophecy to Night.

A warm Newleaf day....but conspiracy lurks

Clawface emerged from her den. She stretched out her front paws first, and then her back ones. She gave her pelt a shake and headed down towards the southern end of the camp. The sun was shining, quite brightly, down on her and made she felt unconfortably hot. It was getting warmer every day, and it was about time Clawface, and all the wolves for that matter, started shedding her winter coat.
But while the Alpha moved away, something was watching her. One of the guards sat at the entrance of the den. His gaze followed the battle-scarred she-wolf until he heard the low voice of Phantom coming from behind him.
"What are you looking at, Venom?"
Venom twisted his head around to look Phantom in the eye. "Why do you ask?"
Phantom swished his tail irritably. "Never mind." He turned and paced away.
Venom shifted his vision back to the clearing.
"When the time is right..................."

The Second Warning

Clawface watched out the entrance to her den as rain pattered on the roof of her den, the Tallrock, and danced down the leaves that circled the camp. It was a light, warm, spring rain, but Clawface felt burdened with the prophecy from Starpack. When all was peaceful, nothing was as it seemed? It seemed rather peaceful now. But the she-wolf's muscles were tensed, prepared for an attack.
She sighed, twitching her tail once. Though she was in her den, her thoughts were in the Medic's den, where Night lay, suffering from whitecough. Nanack had spent the entire night with her, doing her best to help her, but the Beta didn't seem any better. She didn't seem any worse either, but this was little consolation. Clawface sighed, and looked up at the cloudy, overcast sky where the rain fell from. "Why, Starpack?" She pleaded silently. "Why did you let this happen?"
Suddenly, as if in answer, a single golden beam of light broke through the sky. Clawface watched it for a moment. Her eyes widened as a shining figure appeared in the middle of the ray of light. It was a shining gold, and her eyes glowed a bright, blood red.
Clawface stared, transfixed, as the wolf slowly padded over to her. No rain fell on her. It was as if the beam of light dried up every bit of water that entered it. The golden wolf stopped in front of Clawface. She blinked once.
"It is never wise to ask us 'why', Clawface. It is a much better path to ask 'what now'. For when you live in misery with a thousand burdens on your back, as you surely will, what good will it do you to know why it has happened?"
Suddenly, she was gone.
Clawface blinked a few times, as she hadn't once since the golden wolf appeared. She looked back up at the sky again. It still rained, but she felt a bit better.
"All right then, Starpack. What now?"

Rules now Added...

((Hello, fellow Pack members ☺ Been busy lately, but having looked around my pack a few things have come to my attention. So, I've made a set of rules. They're not long, and they shouldn't be too hard. Every so often I may add a new one as I see fit. So, here are the first three:

1. You have to comment in one of my posts at least once a week. The Chatbox DOES NOT COUNT. If you don't follow this rule, your status will be lowered more and more until I finally delete your characters. This is to avoid having members who don't do anything and only take up space. I have no hard feelings against anyone in this. But I want active people.

2. You are free to have as many characters as you want. But you have to play them. Don't create a character just to make a character. Don't get in over your head. Its not fun, for you or for anyone else.

3. If and when you're making a (new) character, check the list of members at the side of the page. I continually keep this updated and organized. If you see that there are way more males than she-wolves, or Guards than Hunters, try to help balance this out. The pack needs all the different wolves.

This is for the Pack's well-being and I'm not trying to pressure you guys in any way. I hope you guys have fun! Get commenting!))

New Members

Clawface crouched, and leapt easily up to the Tallrock. She lifted her chin and howled "Let all those old enough to catch their own prey join under the Tallrock for a pack meeting!"
Wolves flooded the clearing. Looking down at her beloved pack, Clawface barked "We have new members in our pack this day. Make welcome our newest Guards, Matias, Aurora, Ginger, and Romeo. Include in your daily lives our newest apprentice, Dawn. She will spend as many moons as it takes to become one of our swift Hunters. I expect the guidance of her mentor, Rusty, will help her immensely. Treat them all well. Meeting dismissed."

Night's Absence

((Okay guys, found out recently that Night won't be around for a while. I've written out a short story for the reason why...))

Clawface emerged from her den. The Alpha gave her blue-gray coat a shake. She glanced sideways over at the Prey-pile. Rusty had just brought some back, but the pile was still lower than she liked. She and trotted off towards the Guard's den. She poked her slim nose inside, saying "Night, I need you to lead a hunting patrol. We're short on prey." The black Beta looked up. Clawface noticed her eyes almost seemed glazed. "All right Clawface, I'll be out in a minute." She gave a weak cough. Quickly it grew more violent and Clawface closed her eyes and turned her head away slightly. "...are you all right?"
"I'm fine." Night wagged her tail slightly.
Clawface turned. "Be out soon." She padded out of the den and stretched out her front paws. She had other things to do than worry over a little cough her Beta seemed to have caught. But she was soon to stand corrected. She was busy among other things when Shinta came running up to her. "Clawface! There's something wrong!"
Clawface flicked her ears. "Don't yelp in my ear like that. I'll go deaf before I lose my last life. What do you mean, there's something wrong?"
"It's Night!"
Hearing the name, Clawface looked up. She could see the true panic in Shinta's eyes. "Show me."
The Guard led her to the den. They both peered inside. Night lay on her side on her bed of moss. Her side rose and fell, but her breath was only coughing. It almost moved her entire body.
Clawface turned on Shinta, yellow eyes blazing. "Get Nanack."
~~~
"She has Whitecough," Nanack said, rising from her place next to Night. "A pretty bad case. It hasn't turned into Greencough yet, but there's a good chance it will. She must've caught it sometime last night and didn't say anything."
Clawface swished her tail. First the prophecy she had seen yesterday, and now Night was sick. The last thing she had needed was for her Beta to fall ill. "Cure her," the Alpha ordered stubbornly. "Whatever you do, don't let her get any worse."
Nanack nodded. "I've done everything I can. Now, all we can do is wait and see if the herbs work."
((By the way, guys...
