Clawface sprang up to the Tallrock and landed lightly on her paws. She turned to face the clearing below her, and let out a long, echoing howl. "Let all those old enough to catch their own prey join beneath the Tallrock for a pack meeting!"
The wolves of Moonpack assembled before their Alpha and looked up expectantly.
"We have a new member among us," Clawface barked. She looked down at the gray, white, and black she-wolf that stood at the base of the Tallrock. "Make welcome our newest Hunter, Star, and do not exclude her from your daily lives. She is one of us now. Meeting dismissed!"
Star! Star! Star! Star! Star!

A Warning
Clawface shifted restlessly in her den. Dark shadows etched in silver chased themselves around and around in her mind, but she couldn't identify who or what they were, if they were anything at all.
She was walking in an unfamiliar wood. There was no trace of any pack scent. Only musty leaves. Clawface looked back and forth, disoriented and unsure as to where she was going.
Suddenly a pair of yellow eyes blinked open from the gloom. Clawface leaned forward, eyes widening. "Who are you?"
A faint growl sounded. "Beware, Clawface. Peace is not an easy thing to gain."
Clawface recoiled as though she had been stung. "But there is peace now!"
"No." The single word singed the Moonpack Alpha's fur like a wildfire. The eyes advanced from the shadows. Clawface held in a gasp. She had thought these eyes belonged to a wolf, but now she could see the being was nothing more than a dark shadow, an absent silhouette with a vaguely wolfish outline barely distinguishable. The creature moved forward until it's eyes were about four mouse-lengths from Clawface's own.
"You only have the moonlight for a short time. Use its light as guidance, for before long it will dim, and fade from your presence." The shadow leaned closer. "The rain will become poisoned, and the poison will destroy unless you detect it in time." The shadow wound itself around Clawface, enclosing her, oppressing her, clouding her vision into blackness as thick as fur, soft as water..........
Clawface bolted upright. Her fur was standing on end.
"Oh, Starpack. What's going to happen to us now?"
((Ooooo, suspense! This isn't exactly a prophecy. I know I promised you one, but I SUCK at writing prophecies and riddles, so please be patient with me. Your ideas are always appreciated....))

Want your Wolf to Advance Rank?
This page is for you to tell me if your Apprentice is ready to be a Hunter/Guard, or if your pup is ready to become an Apprentice.
If you want your Apprentice to advance rank, just say so.
If you want your pup to advance rank, just tell me what they're going to train as; a Hunter or a Guard (or a Medic, if the Medicine Apprentice rank is open.
Note: I also judge when Apprentices and pups are ready to advance, so there's a chance I'll have their ceremonies without warning. ;)

((Hey all! Gathering tonight, here are the people going:
Romeo
Matias
Shear
Lupus
Gentleheart
Rusty
Venom
Head over to the Gathering at 7:30 pm! I'll be a little late as my youth group meets on Sundays, but I will try to show up!
Also, a little announcement......))
Clawface leapt up to the Tallrock, her paws lighter than they had been since Night's death. She lifted her chin in a resounding howl that called the wolves of her pack together. "Let all those old enough to catch their own prey join beneath the Tallrock for a pack meeting!"
She continued as her packmates gathered beneath her. A few of the pups, Hunter, Olive, and Mallorie, had also snuck out of the den and hung around at the edge of the group, feeling quite important to be participating in a pack meeting.
"Despite the recent occurance of Night's death, our pack moves on. Matias and Kye are expecting pups."
Faces turned toward a proud-looking Matias with his chin held high, and his mate who sat next to him. She too looked rather pleased. Their tails twined around each other slightly.
"It's the power couple!" Hunter whispered, loudly enough for almost everyone in the clearing to hear. "Their pups will beat us in every competition!"
The corners of Clawface's mouth twitched as she almost smiled. "Meeting dismissed."

Night is Gone. :(
Clawface paced back and forth in front of her den under a starless, ink-black sky. It was nearly moonhigh, but the Alpha simply couldn't sleep, and she really wasn't sure why. Frustrated with herself, Clawface sprang up on the Tallrock and sat there firmly, tilting her face up to where the stars would have been if she could see them. For some reason, she had a vague feeling of misfortune, and she didn't know where it was coming from.
Suddenly the bushes at the entrance to the camp rustled. Clawface looked around sharply. Her yellow eyes widened in shock as she watched Night stumble into the clearing and collapse. Blood glistened darkly in the moonlight on her back, neck, and one side, and her breath came out in ragged gasps.
Clawface dropped from the Tallrock and leapt to the Beta's side. "Night!" She yowled.
The call vibrated around the clearing and echoed throughout the territory, rousing wolves from their slumber. Matias, Kisharu, and Frost stumbled out of their dens, looking confused, followed by a few others.
Matias was the first to snap out of the daze of his recently disturbed sleep. "Great Starpack!!!" He howled. "What's going on?!"
Mystic, who happened to be a light sleeper, emerged from her den, followed by what appeared to be a sleepwalking Bud. The Medic knelt next to Night, sniffing her furiously.
Night coughed feebly. "Leave me...." she whispered. Under the gazes of the wolves around her, the black wolf took a deep breath, shuddered, and was still.
Mystic waited for a moment.
Clawface also waited.
The clearing was enveloped in a deep, forbidding silence.
After a while, one of the pups, Olive, spoke up in a tiny, nervous voice. "Is she...dead?"
Mystic didn't respond at first. She stared off into oblivion past the limp, apparently lifeless form of Night. After a while, she said "Yes."
Clawface used as much energy as she could to keep herself from hanging her head. Fatigue washed over her in an almost overwhelming state, and she hoped, wished desperately, to the bottom of her heart, that this was only a nightmare, and nothing more. But her heart told her otherwise.
Night was dead.
~~~
The next morning, wolves were awakened by the sunlight filtering in through their dens, but more so by the news that was quickly passed. The Beta was dead.
The members of the pack entered the clearing from their sleeping quarters to see a solitary, lone figure sitting next to the heap of black fur that was Night. Clawface's eyes were closed and she was completely motionless, and a few wondered if she was asleep, but she suddenly opened her eyes and leaped up to the Tallrock. A visible weight pulled at her paws, and the usual energy that flowed through her was absent.
"Let all those old enough to catch their own prey, join beneath the Tallrock for a pack meeting."
The wolves did as the rather flat call commanded, giving questioning and rather horrified glances at each other.
Clawface lifted her head slightly. "On the moonhigh of the last night, our Beta died."
This was met with silence.
"The cause of her death is unknown. She could not have been saved. She left these hunting grounds moments after falling to them for the last time."
A few murmurs went up, but were silenced quickly as Clawface cast an uncharictaristically hollow gaze over them.
"She runs with Starpack now. I have sat vigil with her, and Song will bury her when this meeting comes to a close." Clawface raised her voice slightly. "May Night approve of the choices we make as a pack in the future. I say these words before her body and Starpack, in hopes that they approve of this descision. Romeo has advanced in rank and now will take Night's place as Beta. Sky will become the new Gamma of Moonpack. Meeting dismissed."
Song proceeded to, on her own, carry Night's body from the camp to bury it. Clawface perched on the Tallrock, watching after them.
((Yes. Hawkface and Night are gone. I'm really not sure why, but Hawkface left a comment last night that said she had to leave, and gave a breif IC of what became of Night. We'll miss you, Hawkface.))
Update
((Hey everyone! Just a quick update for y'all!
I. I'm sorry I haven't been real active lately. I've been rather busy, and I've had a slight amount of writer's block (woah, since when did that happen to me?). But, as a little thing to keep you coming around, there WILL be a new prophecy very soon, and with that prophecy comes those chosen to fulfill it. Get me? :D
II. I updated the 'Join' Page to tell about the Gamma and Delta. Those of you who are new around here would probably find it helpful.
III. Okay, this is going to be rather off topic, but this blog is about the only place I can advertise. :P
So, who here likes dinosaurs? Besides me?
Well, if that happens to be you, perhaps you'd like to join Exhibited? Exhibited is basically a petsite where you can create, capture, battle, breed, and take care of your own raptor. Well, actually as many as you like. EX is one of my favorite sites, and I've been a member for a really long time. Recently it went down for a few months because of a huge bug, but the entire site has been reformatted and it is now open for referrals, which is what I'm doing right now. Click the picture below to visit us!
The people there are very diverse, friendly, and unique. The woman who owns the site, Kitty, is probably one of the nicest people I have ever met.
If you want to chat with me, my player name is Sai, and I'm member #204. Hope to see you there!
IV. Well, with that said, last but not least is another welcome to Spyre! :D
That's all for today - keep posting!))
New Members!
Clawface flexed her muscles and launched herself from the ground in a light spring. She landed deftly on the Tallrock, and proceeded to let out a long, echoing howl that rang around the territory.
"Let all those old enough to catch their own Prey join beneath the Tallrock for a pack meeting!"
The Alpha waited for a moment, and soon enough the whole of her pack was gathered below her. Clawface scanned the crowded clearing for a moment before speaking. "We have new wolves among us. Make welcome our two newest Guards, Cloudingsky and Lupus."
Eyes were drawn to the two biggest of the three wolves that perched under the Tallrock.
"Also joining us this day is Lightning, an Apprentice," Clawface continued. "One day she will be a Hunter, but until then, Thunder will mentor her. Meeting dismissed!"
Cloudingsky! Lupus! Lightning! Cloudingsky! Lupus! Lightning!
((Welcome Spyre!!!!!!))
Aurora's Pups
Thunder rumbled outside as Mystic nosed a few herbs into a pile, after they had been scattered by a few naïve, playful pups. She looked up. “You hear that, Bud?
Bud nodded. “You think there’s enough time to collect a few more herbs before it starts to rain?”
Mystic shook her head. “Nope. Look, it’s raining already.”
Indeed it was; fat drops pelted the hard-trodden ground that could be seen from the entrance to the Medic’s den.
Bud ruffled her fur slightly. “I hope no one’s out there right now. Whoever is will be in for a good bath, and probably catch a cold too.”
Mystic, now finished with her herbs, settled down into her nest and sighed. “Well, let’s get some sleep and let the rain do its work. Tomor-”
“Mystic! Mystic!” Suddenly Comet burst into the den, attempting to catch his breath and crying the medic’s name between pants. “It’s Aurora! I think she’s-”
“Don’t tell me, don’t tell me!” Mystic barked, springing out of her den. “Pups, right?”
Comet nodded breathlessly. “She’s just outside of the camp. Hurry!”
“In this rain?!” Mystic growled. “What are the odds? Come on, Bud!” She darted out of the den and into the pouring rain, and pelted across the clearing. She vanished outside of the camp with Bud on her heels. Comet raced after them breathlessly, whilst protesting “We were taking a walk! I didn’t expect…..”
Aurora was on her side, breathing heavily. Her usually dazzling white fur was soaked and water streamed off of her. Mystic knelt beside her, her ears flopping as they were battered by the rain. “Find me some iris petals, Bud. And be quick!”
Bud, not sure what to do besides follow orders, ran off back to the den as she was told.
Comet, who looked like a skinny gray rat in the wet weather, licked Aurora fervently. “Will she be okay?” His face was anxious.
“She’ll be fine,” Mystic muttered as she worked on getting out the first pup. Bud soon returned with the petals. Mystic nodded to her. “Use them.”
Bud stood frozen for a moment. “…...How?”
“Don’t you remember any of your training? They’ll help her breathe. Use them!”
Bud snapped to it and did as told.
~~~
Soon, a very damp Aurora was curled in the nursery with two small pups. Comet perched next to her, licking her wet ear tenderly.
Aurora sighed and watched her pups with gentle violet eyes.
“What should we name them?” Comet wagged his tail a bit.
Aurora closed her eyes and rested her head against him. “Look at our son, Comet. Doesn’t he look just like you?”
Comet tilted his head slightly, studying the gray pup. Indeed he did; the father and son could have been called clones. “Yes?”
“His name’s Huit.” Aurora smiled faintly. “His name means ‘comet’.”
Touched, Comet nosed his mate and said “And as for the other?”
“You decide,” Aurora mumbled. Her voice was becoming blurred as she started to drift off to sleep.
Comet studied his daughter carefully. “Rain,” he finally barked softly. “I’ll name her Rain.”
“Good choice…………………” Aurora’s breathing became slower and she didn’t move much after that. Comet sank down into a reclining position and rested his head on the ground next to hers.
((First litter born in Moonpack!!!! *Passes out cake* :D
